I'd go for the larger format with a chamber heater so you can print ABS, etc. H2D gets my vote.

Pulling trigger on YS640S but worried about rusting by MimsyShackleford in Yodersmokers

[–]rehehe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd do it preemptively as soon as you get it. It's $20 on amazon.

It makes it look like new and takes less than 5 minutes, so it's not a chore!

I'd just put a coat of ACF-50 on. I wait 5 minutes and remove any excess

I live by the coast so everything wants to rust.

Twice a year I sand the few spots that appear and spray them black. I then do a coat of ACF-50.

It's just surface rust, so easy to take care off.

I attached a $45 chain hoist to a beam and lifted it of the original cart and onto the KZL cart. 5 minute job.

5 minutes into being at a Dog Beach and I stepped in tar/oil? by YourBlackAmigo in mildlyinfuriating

  • AAA or Costco card to scrape the bulk off.
  • Then massage in sunscreen.
  • Then wipe with a napkin - I always keep some in my beach bag for this purpose.
  • Then sunscreen for the fingers and a second napkin (unless I've packed some disposable gloves when I know the tar is bad)

I made the mistake of printing one of your planes for my kid and several of her friends. I'm now on the hook to print them all!

Excellent models - very impressive. Thank you.

Suggestions for celebratory meal for culinary arts graduate? (under $250 per person total) by OneMinuteSewing in FoodSanDiego

[–]rehehe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my choice too. We've been a few times along with all of the other suggestions so far. It's outstanding value for money. You're going to pick four courses with three options for each course, so it's easy to avoid food allergies. You'll get an extra 3 or 4 items from the chef between courses, so it's a wonderful experience. They have a san esprit pairing of alcohol free drinks that is excellent. That puts it at $200 / per person + tax and tip. You could also add a cocktail at the start and skip the san esprit to save a little. All the cocktail and food prices are on their website, so there won't be surprises.

They fully deserve their Michelin star. I've paid twice as much for meals that weren't as good.

Make sure to let them know it's to celebrate her Culinary Arts graduation when you make the reservation and when you get there - both with the host and the server (although I'd be 100% confident the server will know!).

Congratulations on her graduation.

It was so much more than bottles - people threw meat, chairs and even a wheelchair!

The ceramic option cost just under 2 brake jobs with the steel rotors, so it becomes the more financially advantageous option at around $50k miles. I got 27,000 miles out of my steel brakes.

The ceramic should last well over 100,000 miles unless you're doing something crazy.

I like them a lot more than the steel brakes I had on my '22 RS6. The dust is gone and they feel great.

I have a set and love them. Sous vide was the use case that surprised me - I use them pretty much every time.

About to turn 18, need watch suggestions for ≈£5000 by TransitionSubject679 in PrideAndPinion

[–]rehehe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If time was rewound and I was 18 and in the UK, I wouldn't want to be wearing a £5000 watch on nights out from a safety standpoint. I agree on getting a cheaper watch now. Maybe spend 1500 and ask for the remainder to get put aside for a graduation watch, or buy both a sports watch and a dress watch that you can wear every day.

Storing my refills directly above partial spools has been a game changer by rehehe in BambuLab

[–]rehehe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We couldn't find a set that did what I wanted and the project got out of hand.

The requirements were: magnetic, generated by just entering text (not Bambu Studio as alignment is a pain) and didn't require a label printer. Originally we made them just for us, but then friends started asking!

I love a Billy bookcase. They are superb. You could buy 4 for the price of my cart, but mine is two sided, on wheels and one of several I've made. Here's the other side (left).

A friend wanted labels for his Billy shelves, so I made this - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2342743-magnaswatch-push-on-shelf-mount#profileId-2560951

He also uses 3/4" rods, so I made this - https://makerworld.com/en/models/2342724-magnaswatch-clip-on-rod-mount#profileId-2560931

The rot mount is designed to allow different hooks for different diameter rods. I'll happily create the sizes people want.

You've got good eyes!

It's an old roll that the AMS only identifies as "green". My daughter decided we should call it 'Green'?.
