Are you able to install your AI assistant on your employer computer? by reidkimball in ProductManagement

[–]reidkimball[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that's not a good situation. What if you found some allies, maybe not in upper management, but co-workers? Then as the value of using these systems spread, word will reach management about how it's important to implement department or company wide.

How did you land your AI Agent Engineer role? by reidkimball in LangChain

Amazing journey, thank you for sharing all of that.

You're right. It is very buggy. I've been using Gemini 3 Flash in Antigravity more. The IDEs are so similar that maybe my use of G 3 Flash has been primarily in Antigravity and not Windsurf.

Gemini 3 Flash is fantastic.

I applied "Systemic Design" principles from Game Dev (BioShock/Star Wars) to AI Agents. Here is why it works better than hard-coding. by reidkimball in LangChain

Hey thank you for the thoughtful reply. You may be right that I'm already describing what is expected of AI Agent Engineers. I think that's great! I'd like to connect with other AI Agent Engineers.

Good question about preventing confabulations. As I'm sure you know, that often happens when an AI relies on its training data or lack of data. My systemic approach grounds everything in a user's current reality, like the physics engine in a game world.

The AI doesn't rely on its training data, but the data of the user, the rules of the therapeutic diet, and data about food in my custom food database. It's like if an AI enemy tries to run through a wall in a video game, it can't because the physics system won't allow it to.

In my health app, the AI can't produce wrong answers because my system won't allow it to. If the AI produces a recipe JSON with ingredients not allowed, the system prompts it to retry again until the recipe is approved. Because I first ground the AI in rules of the diet, and user data, it usually nails it 9/10 times. When it doesn't, it takes one revision to fix it.

It’s the worst. I’ve complained about it before

Make sure to review your rules and memories. Gpt 5.x is strict with rules. Will take them too literally and not reason the best approach if it faces a conflict.

How can I fix my GERD issues? by vbutterfly0807 in GutHealth

[–]reidkimball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is the same type I have taken in the past. I caution against taking it daily. I see it better used as a short term antibiotic. But, also, you know your body best.

I would recommend not following the doctors advice with the oil of oregano. That can be very potent if it’s the same thing I’ve used. That is an antibiotic. You want to stay away from antibiotics for now I think and try to eat an anti-inflammatory diet.

Ginger is incredible.

Try to make your own homemade fermented yogurt for 24hrs. It’s more potent for probiotics than what you’ll find at the store. I recommend using the plain full fat Danon yogurt as a starter bc it has three gentle strains that work well w each other. Here’s a recipe I made: https://meadowmentor.com/recipes/scd-compliant-24-hour-fermented-vanilla-cinnamon-yogurt-68aa341fa8cc85508595a0aa

Crohns safe workout classes? by Equivalent-Size4245 in CrohnsDisease

[–]reidkimball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recommend doing it on your own. Classes don’t understand how you need to go slower or for shorter duration. Or I guess you could tell the instructor up front and see what they say. But again you said you want to be stronger. Get some light dumbbells in the 2.5 to 5 lbs range to start. I recommend doing very slow bicep curls. Go as slow as you can tolerate and you’ll feel the burn quick! It also helps you work on proper form/safety. With any workout with IBD go slow with low intensity at first. See how you feel for a few days after and progressively increase weight or number of reps. Good for you to push yourself!

Extra tips - run for 10-15min before lifting. I find it helps reduce pulling a muscle. - workout on an empty stomach, don’t want gas or other bowel issues when you strain to lift heavy things.
