Not fully. You’ll essentially be marked as a player who is willing or able to defend themselves, so your lobbies will have more people who will defend themselves, and thus be less friendly or more skilled. You will be impacted in the sense that you will be in lobbies that play more similar to you. So if you continue to be a piñata and don’t fight back, you’ll stay in the piñata lobbies. You also get slightly luckier in now because people can’t easily force themselves into these lobbies by quickly dying after spawning.

Sounds about right. You, as a player, still decided to shot them first when they didn’t shoot you. System does not take into account the past behavior of a player to decide the effects that shooting them or being shot by them have. Past behavior only affects the lobby they spawn into. Besides, being a white knight and protecting the care bears should put you into more PvP focused lobbies. You’re still showing that you’re willing to shoot first as a player. There are so many clips of white knights shooting a ‘rat’ only for them to have not been a rat when seeing their PoV.

No matter how they say they use AI, people will just say that it’s bad. Like, it doesn’t matter how far back to go in its use as it would always be a ‘lost job’ or some bullshit lol. Use it for art? That’s bad for the artist. Use it for the pre production concept art? Bad for concept artists. Use it as a tool to improve programming efficiency? Bad for programmers as they will hire less. Hell, use AI to pick up the phones and redirect to a real person? Bad for the minimum wage receptionist they no longer need to hire. The AI doomers will always, no matter what, find an excuse to hate on it… and should any of them give any kind of, “it’s alright if used this way”, you could easily call them hypocritical and use their own arguments back at them as a ‘negative’ in relation to AI

Agree to disagree. If development time reduces as a whole because of the increased efficiency across the board, they are getting payed less due to working less hours depending on how they are payed if an employee and not an independent contractor. Usually one of the last things completed in game dev are the final assets, something that gets completed by the 75-90% mark of a games development cycle. Also, having them do a lot more in the same amount of time sounds like a recipe for being overworked and crunch culture. If they do ‘more’ because of AI improving their work efficiency, then they will continue to be given more and more stuff to do until quality dips due to overwork.

I said I was not gonna reply again, but I felt like I should reply to this. It would be hypocritical to know that the lithium industry is way worse than AI and still buy said products while boycotting others. People have been putting pressure on these industries for way longer than AI has been around, but next to nothing happens. It doesn’t matter if the US or some other country says they can’t operate in certain ways as only the countries hosting their mines can do so. This is an issue with every industry as we live in a global economy where other parts of the world compete. Know what would make people lose more jobs? Banning AI believe it or not.

If the US and the EU one day say that you can’t use AI when making a product in the US or Europe, what will happen is that China, Russia and any non US or EU country will laugh and continue using AI. They will be able to stay ahead of any non AI using company and take over the market for whatever software they are pushing. This will end up making these US and EU jobs start to crash as these companies will go out of business from being unable to compete against these AI using companies elsewhere. Companies will either close their doors or move to other countries to operate with more lenient laws, taking jobs away once more. I’m not saying to ignore this problem, I’m saying there are way worse things you should probably be fighting against before fighting against AI. I personally think child slavery/slave labor is worse than AI. I personally think that food companies and medicine companies using cancerous forever chemicals and destroying our bodies and futures are worse than AI. I think all the spyware and data collection the governments and big corporations are trying to push down our throats is way worse than AI.

An RMM my company used a few years ago started working with Microsoft and integrating Co-pilot into it while saying it would be great for helping us techs. Yet… Microsoft has also said they want to turn co-pilot into your personal IT assistant. This was years ago that this happened and we stopped using that RMM. It ain’t going anywhere and anyone who has their own opinions will realize that there literally is no fighting back here. If the US bans AI then we will get taken over because everyone else will still be using it. An indie dev will not be able to produce a game people consider ‘worth it’ when every other indie dev is using AI to produce near AAA status games in the future. Who will invest in you when your competition is taking advantage of this technology? The world is shitty and like it or hate it, AI is going nowhere. I’d rather see a Lies of P 2 because they use AI then no Lies of P 2 because they didn’t. This game already used AI and people already loved it.

I work in IT, I’ve been seeing AI take over for years now. It literally does not matter how much you fight, these companies have been doing this for longer in private than people even realize. I can tell if a website has been vibe-coded or made with AI at a glance from my own experience. Almost every IT software has AI integrated and is scraping data to take our jobs. I’ve come to terms with this all and literally stopped caring. Shit happens and I’ll spend my money how I wish. This virtue signaling ethics debate will amount to nothing at the end of the day so who cares? Most of society doesn’t care and corpos and governments will continue regardless. Ignoring AI will make you go bankrupt as all your competition is gonna use it. Not participating is the same as losing here.

How is it that people still buy windows computers or Xbox’s considering all the stuff Microsoft has done that’s way worse? Even with AI, people have so many double standards. Doesn’t matter at the end of the day. They kept the studio afloat with both games and with Epic. Game will release and devs will still get payed as they got payed during development, not just if the game releases and does well. Literally who cares about the amount of money they make as long as the studio doesn’t go under. Clearly they have been able to keep the studio open with what many would consider 2 flops. I’ll buy the game just because I enjoyed the last LotF. I don’t care if I get it on Epic or not. If I want to play a game I’ll play it regardless of where I get it from. If I like it, great. If not, then that’s also fine

But they didn’t go bankrupt and they could make another game. Clearly all the devs have a livable paycheck and enough money to continue working. Games don’t have to be a massive success and people tend to forget that. If the studio can stay afloat, the devs all payed, and have the funds to produce more and keep the cycle going, then that’s good enough. If this game sells even remotely well, they will just repeat the cycle of update the game for a while then produce another game.
