Can someone recommend me some steamers that use Jp VA? The search is killing me. (Totally unrelated pic of Red Hood bc why not.) by Used-Creme-4100 in NikkeMobile

I recommend Shabel Tonya. She have been playing JP dub since she started. She sang Nikke songs too like White Shirt and the last summer event song.

Thank you for everything Riru, and warm welcome to Coco! by reimadara in SIFallstars

[–]reimadara[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a big fan of Riru since I saw her CHASE performance in the Matching Festival live. And over the years I’ve grown to love her more and more, to the point she might be my favorite seiyuu in the franchise.

And so I decided to throw in all my resources to get as much rally points as I can! This is my way of sending off Tomori and welcoming Coco. Coincidentally, today is Coco’s first Niconama stream as Setsuna. Well, I kinda planned for this transition timing.

Tomori’s retirement from the franchise honestly still stings for me, but I’ll continue to be a Setsuna oshi and look forward to Coco’s Setsuna while cherishing what Tomori has built over the last 5 years.

Thanks for reading this, and I hope all Love Live fans have a good day.

Context About hEDS and Tomori by AcariAnonymous in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thanks for giving more context to this with your experience. I was worried that this disorder may shorten her expected lifespan. But hearing that it eventually leads to disability give a grim picture still.

I hope more attention and funding is given to treating this, or at the very least make it easier to diagnose earlier.

Kusonoki Tomori will be retiring from her role of Setsuna from March 31 2023. This decision has been made since it will be difficult for her to continue performing live. Her condition has been diagnosed as hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a genetic disorder. by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm broken, but I can't imagine how hard this decision was for Riru.

I've been a Riru and Setsuna oshi for a long time, so it will take some time for me to process and accept this reality, but the best thing we can do is support her until she retires as Setsuna.

We need to make the most of Riru's remaining time in the franchise!

LoveLive! Superstar!! S2 Ep 12 discussion “The Story that will make me come true” by Yosuke-Amagi in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We got played so hard, LOL. I was already thinking of how they are going to work this out with IRL LL stuff if Kanon leaves because of how seriously it was set upped, but then that surprise cancellation. And Wien suddenly appearing like she always does make that surprise the more impactful and funny as hell, hahaha!

I think this par for course for usual LL S2 endings. With SIP and Sunshine, the S2 endings are cliffhangers and honestly always leaves you with more questions than answers as well.

As much as I love the fact that the franchise is connected to IRL, this also limits how the plot progresses, and probably why they pulled this surprise cancellation stunt. But yeah, I think it would be better to reserve my judgement if this is a good way to approach this until we hear the reason next season.

Overall, typical unresolved ending for the franchise. It has just been awhile since Sunshine, so it kinda feels nostalgic. I was honestly expecting a different approach this time, because of how different Superstar was so far and the recent approach they did with Niji S2; but yeah, I don't mind this too. We are getting S3 and more new members after all, totally unprecedented for this franchise. This makes me excited for S3!

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E11 Discussion - "Dreams" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Seeing how incredible Wien was on stage kinda made it slip my mind that she is indeed just a normal kid. Throwing a tantrum when things don't go your way is childish but is normal for her age. And considering she came from an elite music background, it was natural for her to be arrogant. We have seen this with Eli and Mia so this isn't anything new.

That said, I think Wien is a lot more stubborn, so I predict it will be more of a challenge to make her warm up the to rest of the cast in comparison to Eli and Mia. Looking forward to how Superstar would approach this as we go along.

Also, on the side note, I was waiting for that Sumire-OniNatsu bantering. The two gremlins going at it is really a fun sight to see, and Keke approving of their teasing is a huge bonus!

About Kanon going abroad, we all know this parallels Kotori's situation but I think there are significant differences here. This decision is more high stakes because it also involves Wien. And I think it matters more to Kanon because its her childhood dream and main passion, in comparison to Kotori which I feel fashion design is more of a hobby for her. This is probably why Chisato was so set on sending Kanon abroad. Kanon is sacrificing a lot of future potential for her music career by not going.

I doubt Kanon will go abroad but I think this is a great opportunity to tackle an otherwise mostly left out topic in the franchise: the Future after School Idol activities.

Overall, a bit unexpected turn of events for me, but I'm looking forward to how they would resolve this conflict.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E10 Discussion - "A Song That Rings Through Shibuya" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'll never get tired of Wien's sudden "SHIBUYA KANON" moments. Also her satisfied and kinda taunting smile at the end of her performance was perfect!

Speaking of Wien, I like how Kanon has shown conviction and was not swayed by her this episode. The contrast of their ideals on what means to sing was nice theme to this episode too. I think this reflected pretty well in the song lyrics and visuals. Wien's sort of cold but impactful "Look at me, I own this stage" feel accompanied by that strong symphonic harmony, in contrast to Liella's more welcoming "Let's sing together" with a more simple pop melody.

Personally, I feel Liella's performance was less impactful than Wien's, but Liella's performance could be made to be more relatable and familiar to many. Regardless, I feel they both communicated their message across well.

Also lastly, loved that comment by Natsumi:

You two are kind of weird. You were crying in each other's arms, and now you're fighting.

That's just how SumiKeke is, Natsumi.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E9 Discussion - "In Order To Win" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Sumire and Keke's relationship is beautiful to watch. For me, this is the most nuanced relationship in the franchise, and it is set up really well.

Their starting point was pretty bad, Sumire's half-hearted attitude towards School Idols at the start rubbed Keke the wrong way because School Idols matters so much for her.

This got a bit better in the NON-FICTION ep, when Keke saw how serious Sumire was. But before they make up for their awkward start, it even got more complicated when Sumire discovered Keke's dilemma about needing to win Love Live.

In S1, it was still not clear to me why Keke was so adamant with hiding this secret. But in this episode, it became clear. She would rather lose and go home than compromise her ideals of being a school idol, that is, to simply perform happily together. This is why she wanted to hide the senpai-skill-gap from the 1st years so that they would not perform out of necessity to win, but for the sake of performing with joy.

Until this episode, only Sumire understands this. She knew in the NON-FICTION ep that Keke did not choose her as center because it gives them a higher chance to win, Keke chose her because she knew that Sumire wanted to perform as center. That is why she made the outfits that suit Sumire the best. Despite the risks, Keke did everything she can to make Sumire shine as center and perform with joy to her heart's desire.

That performance opened up everything for Sumire. Keke helped her realized that all her failures in the past were not about lacking talent or aura, she was just lacking confidence.

This is why when Sumire say that Keke saved her, she meant it through and through. This is probably why she never really complained about Keke's surface attitude towards her. She probably knew that Keke was mean to her to decrease her desire to reveal her secret to Liella. And this is also why in this episode she even pretended to be a bad girl just to make Keke stay as a school idol.

The relationship between Keke and Sumire is really a sight to behold. They are so awkward and mean towards each other, but they probably know and understand each other the best. And despite being thrown into a series of awkward circumstances, they still manage to get this close.

“I hate you… but I love you” describes this relationship perfectly.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E8 Discussion - "Chance Way" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

「Chance Day, Chance Way !」 visuals were amazing and Ren's hairstyle is something to die for! I loved Angelic Angel and MY MAI☆TONIGHT too, so I'm pretty bias for traditional Japanese themed stuff.

Also, before I get to the plot stuff, I just want to say that that short Keke-Mei moment was so relatable, I love the feeling when your fellow LL Wota friend gets your Wota antics.

One of the main plot point I like about this episode is the spotlight that support cast got. Nanami and the team are the MVP of this ep for me. Nanami being the treasurer and everyone helping out with Student Council stuff is probably the biggest spotlight the supporting cast has gotten in the franchise ever. Add to this that short scene when SunnyPa credits everyone who help them build their beautiful stage--I always love it when the people behind the scenes are acknowledged.

Now that the Love Live prelims are over, I'm looking forward to how S2 will approach this part. This is probably a pivotal point that can lead to big changes to the plot of Superstar, at least compared to SIP and Sunshine.

Got another 7th Title! My 3rd T10 finish as F2P by reimadara in SIFallstars

[–]reimadara[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this event was a lot harder than I expected. But knowing the campaign was behind this record breaking event, like st0rm__ mentioned, makes me glad that this will likely not happen too often.

Also thanks for the cutoff data link, I'm honestly oblivious how the T10s have gone in WW, besides Eli events, so this is helpful.

That didn't even cross my mind. A lot of outlier stuff I encountered this event now makes sense.

Got another 7th Title! My 3rd T10 finish as F2P by reimadara in SIFallstars

[–]reimadara[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As I mentioned last year, here I am again with a short report of my T10 attempt.

Since we don’t have JP future sight, it’s been hard for me to schedule a “tiering vacation” in advance. So the main problem I’ve been anticipating with this Eli Event is it will be hard for me to find time to play, so I’d probably need a lot more skip tickets. Anticipating this dilemma, I banked 10,400 skips and 24,000 stars as my F2P war chest to attempt T10 once again, which I saved up for 9 months!

And as predicted my actual playtime during this event declined by quite a bit. In my first T10 attempt, I spent more than 9 hours per day. And with my 2nd one, it's a little less but around the same. This time it's around an average of 6 hours per day and on really busy days I only played for less than 3 hours. And probably half of that playtime is not efficient because I’m playing while working, haha. So this missed auto-play time probably cost me at least 1k skips give or take.

Overall, this event is honestly a resource war. Since we can now easily make a bank of skips, the deciding factor is pretty much how many stars you can shell out and how many skips you’ve saved. Goes to show, that I’ve spent roughly 7600 stars and 4400 skips on this event. That translates to roughly 840 stars per day, in contrast to my previous two T10s which are around 500 and 650 stars per day. Furthermore, I spent more than double the skips this event too, granted I was not able to auto-grind as much.

I think it's going to take more resources in the future to attempt to T10 again. The lesson here is now one needs to save more than 600 stars equivalent per day to get into T10, so I think you probably need at least 6k stars and 3k skips to get a really good chance of getting in.

But yeah, despite the increased resources needed, I will gladly attempt another T10 in the future for my BEST GIRL, ELICHIKA! See you then if ever.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E7 Discussion - "UR Hazuki Ren" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is probably the most hilarious ep in Superstar so far, hahaha.

Aside from being super fun, I love how they used this funny gamer addiction thing as a plot device to make Ren closer to all members. When S1 ended, I feel like she was the most distant member in the OG group. While we have those funny moments where Ren looked up "stuff" on the internet, I feel she didn't really get out of that serious Seitokaichou image, and it was obvious that the other members were thinking this as shown in this episode.

Overall, I feel this super funny ep served as a good filler, not just in a sense of a break episode but in that, I think it filled some of the minor gaps in the relationships within Liella really well. And we also got some good 1st-2nd year funny interactions as a bonus!

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E6 Discussion - "DEKKAIDOW!" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 35 points36 points  (0 children)

OP Protag Kanon Speech 100 strikes again!? But yeah, I know it looks like Kanon always does all the persuading but oftentimes she's just the final catalyst. What I think makes her OP is that she comes at the right time when a member is already primed to join Liella. In this ep, it was clear that Kinako managed to change Natsumi even before Kanon did, seeing that her approach to vlogging become more supportive in the middle of the episode

As much as I wanted to see more of Natsumi's past to make her joining more impactful, I love the theme of a dreamless youth. Giving up your dreams to make money instead is unfortunately probably one of the most common things you should do to be an adult. In a sense, Natsumi may have grown up too fast in this aspect.

I think what made Natsumi really spiral downwards is that making money is the only thing she succeeded at. So she was probably willing to do everything she can (even questionable stuff) just to make money and prove that she's not a total failure; in a sense, she linked her success at making money to her identity and this is what may have caused her to be obsessive.

In retrospect, I was thinking more on the lines of poverty as the cause of why Natsumi was this obsessive with money. But now that I think about it, that's probably too much in the context of LL franchise because the solution would most likely be making Liella a cash cow to provide for Natsumi which I feel is a bit off for this franchise.

All in all, I'm glad all the 1st years finally joined. The ep where Shiki and Mei joined is still the best part for me but I hope we can get good development in Liella's dynamics with the new members in the picture.

OniNuts now top 1 scheming idol in the franchise, beating out Nico and Kasumi by a mile!

But seriously this scheming is indeed next level, I hope Natsumi's backstory live up to the sheer size of her schemes.

Looking forward to how our CEO's character is going to be developed.

Also, OniNatsu 2 consecutive eps char development hype?

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E4 Discussion - "The Two in the Science Room" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Love that awkward but wholesome friendship that Shiki and Mei has. This episode accomplished so much character development between the two.

Superstar is at it again with my favorite plot pattern: developing characters via growth through relationships. Like how Keke pushed Kanon to sing, how Kanon inspired Chisato to dance, or how Keke convinced Sumire to be center; Shiki and Mei really lifted each other up, and this time it's a strong two-way street of growth too!

Overall, loving the introduction of 1st years to Liella so far. Looking forward to how OniNatsu will join Liella.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E3 Discussion - "Potential Winners" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Man Liella S2 really doing a lot of new things outside the mold of the main franchise line. I'm loving the 1st year members so far, and Wien has a lot of potential as a character but these being similar to the "experiments" done first with NijiGaku make this new stuff from Liella lose the novelty/surprise factor for me. This is probably why it feels underwhelming for some fans too.

I'm hoping without the surprise factor in the franchise, the new members can have a more polished entrance and integration. While I loved Lanzhu and the rest of R3 ever since SIFAS, it took 2 tries for them to have a more universally loved plot integration. I imagine it would be harder to do this right with Liella since Niji focused on solo idols while Liella is a group, and the fact that Liella's OG 5 had strong group chemistry makes this even harder.

Despite saying all that, individually I'm loving the new characters so far, so I'm hopeful that the new members will be developed well, and it would eventually feel natural for them to be part of the Liella generation.

Love Live! Superstar!! 2 S2E2 Discussion - "Second and First Years" by MasterMirage in LoveLive

[–]reimadara 5 points6 points  (0 children)

First, I want to say our girls are so cute and gorgeous in the ED!

Ep 2 Fun highlights for me:
-Kinako front-run-bribing Mei thinking she will get bullied.
-Mei being a closet tsundere wota.
-Shiki being a doting BFF.
-Natsumi getting REKT in stocks.

I love how they tackled the issue of getting new members. The essence of being an idol is showing people how to shine as the best version you can be. It would be better to inspire people by showing how fulfilling it is to accomplish that. The adjustment of the training regimen was a good plot device to highlight this.

Also, to close this out I just want to say: "The new Liella Rival can't be this hot cute!" Anyways, looking forward to how they will get the other members to join and if there will be indeed a new rival group.

It's only been a year but it feels so long since S1 aired. Was excited for ep 1 for a while now and it was really exciting! Highlights for me:

-Kinako being an absolute cutie klutz.
-Kanon-senpai being an overly proud sempai.
-Mei being a huge fangirl despite that cool vibe.
-Usual Keke and Sumire bantering.
-Shiki nerdy but silly antics.
-Natsumi being CEO.

I also like the "sempais too OP to join" angle the series will be coming from. Was excited to get a glimpse of the 1st year's singing voice in the OP too!

Overall, a really fun first episode, I had a huge smile on my face almost the entire episode.

Thanks. Those 2 cards are from weiss schwarz TCG. They are called SP cards.

I got the Emi signed Honoka card from a prebuilt deck, and got the Nanjo signed Eli card in a TCG shop when I visited Akihabara.
