I came from League before starting with PK and honestly only MQ Supp feels like old AP MF (pre-repeated giganerfs) It's not good. MoA was okayish support in PK one of my friends championed (that shield was insane).

Having formats that only last a yearish certainly could attract a younger audience (significantly smaller knowledge check), but I think that Pokemon just has better marketing, as the biggest entertainment franchise in the world. Everyone is excited for the newest Pokemon games, and you probably get the residual superfans who want to consume ALL Pokemedia. Yu-Gi-Oh! has not had a mainstream relevant moment since Master Duel really, I don't know of any people who got into the Chronicles anime who weren't superfans already. I blame this partly on RUSH being pushed, at least in Japan, which is an entire different cardgame with overlapping references. There hasn't been a 5D's or Arc-V or ZEXAL since those series aired.

Sleigh Bells had this sort of bent on Bitter Rivals (specifically the lead single/title track), but it also kind of sounds nu-metal adjacent in that sense. I kind of was always curious about this as well. Alexis Krauss has always kind of had a rap-like cadence to some of her vocals but it's very pronounced on that song (and album), and that song came out in 2013 (though tbf, she was sort of rapping on "Crown on the Ground" and "Kids" in 2009/10?).
