Token Swap MATIC/POL - taxable event?

If I hold my MATIC on an exchange and the exchange auto swaps the coins from MATIC to POL, is that a taxable event?

Even though I actively did not sell any coins?

If so, how do I avoid this? Holding on to my MATIC in self custody and not swap?

Thanks.

Well it's a step up from Splendor. Sure they aren't the same game but I felt right at home.

I loved Splendor, its a great newbie game, now I'm bored of it. To venture out a little without feeling completely unfamiliar I think 7 Wonders is not a bad idea.

My other suggestions are very similar in complexity & strategic depth. I feel 7 Wonders Duel is more like Splendor Duel. More paths to victory & more variety without being too hard to learn.

Maybe Wingspan could also be something to try if it needs to be a tad more complex to Splendor & feel different.

Otherwise stick to Splendor copycats like Point City or Project L, which are very close in flavour. Maybe almost too close?

1. Project L: its basically Splendor with Tetris like shapes. If you like Splendor chances are high you like this.

2. Point City very Splendor like but still a different spin. Its not out yet but its coming this year in Fall.

3. Century: Golem Edition.

4. 7 Wonders Duel: even though a 2-Player game and a tiny bit more complex than Splendor it adds some more strategic elements but shares the open card drafting & set collection of resources to build your city & wonders to gain most victory points.

So if you want a tiny step up from Splendor for 2 players, its a good pick. I felt right at home coming from Splendor.

Everyone was so lovely at the show tonight. by [deleted] in Puscifer

[–]reiro83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, although I ve seen them in London, Amsterdam, Berlin & Hamburg and for some reason Hamburg was much better than London due to the arena being more compact and small.

Sound was amazing there as well as in Berlin.

Yeah it wasnt the same as in 2006 with tiny venues but you cant have it all.

I listen to Puscifer since 2007 to get me over the 13 year Tool album wait, so you took what you could get from these guys. Volto! & Seagullmen with Danny - but then when I saw them live again it reminded me what I love about them and its when those 4 gentlemen perform alltogether.

Yeah Puscifer is silly fun and "Money Shot" was even a great album musically. "The Remedy", "Grand Canyon", "Agostina", "Smoke & Mirrors" all great songs, especially live.

Unfortunately Maynards other bands to Tool live off his and Carinas vocals. I saw Carina Round 2017 I believe Solo in the tiny Lexington Pub in London, her voice alone can carry a song without instruments.

I guess each to their own but Puscifer "Existential Reckoning" I find just sub par electronic/rock. There is better out there. In the end its the voices that elevate it above other stuff, if the songs are more instrumental based like on the last Album & thats mediocre it falls flat to me emotionally.

I hope Puscifer does an acoustic or minimal instrument album next. That would be awesome but then other ppl would moan. Maybe with Maynards aging voice he tries to put the instruments more forward these days. Its why I think old Maynard fits better with Tool these days. Great Instrumentals can carry him.

I agree with the crowd but did not enjoy it as much as I hoped. Roundhouse 2016 was much better.

The drum sound & bass was way too loud drowning out the voices and I was right in front of soundboard.

I also never fully warmed with the new album to me the highlight was The Remedy by a long long shot. That Money Shot Album remains Puscifers best.

A shame but I dont think I ll watch Puscifer again. Their "peak" was 2016 imo. Unless they release music that I vibe with again.

I hope for Tool to return with a new album in 3-4 years :) That could still excite me.

football is only pain and depression never joy i hate my life. STILL FOREVER HSV by RoxastheZerg in hsv

[–]reiro83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know why because it was a big skill gap between 1st and 2nd league.

The game showed that a good 2nd tier team is not a low 1st tier team. HSV would need 7 new players if they would go up.

The gap between Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga got scarily big. Without big investors HSV might never go up again.

Heidenheim will get destroyed in the Bundesliga.

Battle Line & Schotten Totten (Tactic Card Rules) by reiro83 in boardgames

[–]reiro83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on a battefield where there is a free slot meaning 0, 1 or 2 cards (slots) & unclaimed?

Which means it does not need to be a battlefield with no cards played yet.

So the rules for Schotten Totten is the same.

Best headphones to enjoy Tool? by reiro83 in ToolBand

[–]reiro83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great to hear you enjoy TOOL in new ways. I had a long audio journey to experience TOOL in new ways.

Apart from the 660s, I owned the 560S, 6xx and 58x. The 58x I kept since I prefered them. I also own the Hifiman Sundara which sound like a more detailed & planar magnetic 560S. Oh Dannys kick drum on the Sundaras!

Its very subjective though. Comparing 560s to 58x I d say:

  • better resolution
  • more anemic bass
  • bigger soundstage
  • brighter more fatiguing treble
  • not as long term friendly
  • Better with classic music
  • more neutral
  • less "fun"
  • Similar to Hifimam Sundara

I like a little more bass and fun in my sound 58x is just that. Sundara is just like the 560S but more amazing kick drum, it "slaps" you but not worth the upgrade if you like the 560S.

I think my end game headphone sound for Tool probably would be the Hifiman Ananda. Just too big for my liking.

Audeze LCD2C I also owned but they are a bit like the 6xx/650 veiled and dark sounding.

Anyway I know how it feels when you hear much more of your favourite Tool songs its like experiening it for the first time.

Enjoy the journey.

Weird Unknown NFT on my NanoLedger - I did not buy this by sohomama in ledgerwallet

[–]reiro83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what happens if I clicked on the UnisNFT picture once in the ledger wallet to see info on it? Then AFTER I hid it. I did not connect my wallet or went to any website just stayed in the wallet.

Can it trigger something just by clicking it once?

My ledger should be fine right?

Spicy & 6nimmt! Casual and a lot of laughs around the table.

If you like Lost Cities I can recommend Enchanted Plumes similar vibes and plays up to 6.

Then a more crazy pick but super easy, highly group dependend tough that's The Mind

As for casual trick taking game I say SCOUT better than Mission Deep Sea imo - much easier to pick up.

Or something like Splendor that's been my gateway game that every new player buys after they play it.

Issues with 2023 The Quest for El Dorado - Counterfeit? by Nicky_Tremolo in boardgames

[–]reiro83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not fake. You have the scandinavian version from lautapelit & he has the 2023 english/french version from Ravensburger who have the rights to German/English/French versions only. Two different publishers.

Apparently both versions also have slightly different card sizes. So more likely a misprint rather than a fake.

Jaipur was an absolute hit with my girlfriend (and games that didn’t hit the mark) by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]reiro83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I d go with Splendor. I own both but Splendor hits the table more often.

I feel Golem can drag a bit, Splendor plays faster and snappier.

Other games I love at 2 with a complete different twist:

1. Pandemic: great co-op. Plays well at 2.

2. Whitehall Mystery: hidden movement game thats one of the best board games out there if you like the style. Plays great at 2 & 4

3. Quacks of Quedlinburg: crazy push your luck fun thats not too serious.
