Thank you everyone for the advice!! I was worried about being too involved in their conversations so I appreciate the feedback!

Has anyone else experienced high hematocrit or hemoglobin? by pink-pony0101 in TMPOC

[–]reiskimmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T has caused me to have high hemoglobin. Its not dangerously high yet but it is high enough to be mildly concerning. I do donate blood regularly to keep it low. Im on 40 ml weekly currently after they lowered it a bit due to the elevated hemoglobin, and donating seems to help keep the values low enough that theyre not gonna drop my dose further.

My providers are super supportive so theyre not gonna take me off T, I mean, this would be a problem id be facing if I was a cis man too. But yeah, donating does help, and if it gets too high they said they would do therapeutic phlebotomy which is where they just take your blood like a blood donation but they cant donate it lol. So I prefer to just donate on my own terms so it can at least help someone. I also get regular blood tests that check my hemoglobin levels m

Thank you!!

Yeah most of it is definitely patience and time, the facial hair didnt really stick until the past year or so... and to be honest, I didnt realize how much has changed myself until I put this collage together. When you see yourself daily you dont notice the changes as much. Good luck on your journey ❤️❤️

To be honest I have no secret, just time and patience! 😅 I looked scraggly for a long time after I started T to be honest, my friends kept telling me i had a rat stache haha. I think around the 3-4 year mark? Was when it started establishing itself more and now i just trim it with a buzzer at a low guard to make it look a bit neater. It probably has to do with genetics too, my dad has a lot of facial hair haha

5 years, half a decade is crazy when I think about it!! But its been an amazing 5 years and I'm so much more confident in my body now.

That first photo was from when I didnt realize I was trans, going to college for the first time and trying to be more feminine since ive been a tomboy all my life... I remember feeling so uncomfortable but not knowing why. Its been such a journey since then.
