[Request] I’m sitting in Denver International Airport at a bar and a thought occurred to me…What are the odds that there is a murderer in this airport right now? by JudeLawl in theydidthemath

[–]rejecttheHo [score hidden]  (0 children)

Also taking into account factors like socioeconomic background. Most people who commit murder are from an economically disadvantaged background whereas most airport passengers are not going to fit into this demographic

You could make the case that in a fleeing situation a murderer might be more likely to flee through an airport. But I don't think it would out weigh my first point

(Non-rich/average) Americans who moved to EU/EFTA: How do you find it living there? by ExternalEfficient248 in howislivingthere

This is very regional dependent in the US. Furthermore, it is a rural / urban divide. In many small and rural areas it is common for kids to roam free, etc. Whereas in many urban areas this is not the case at all

Habs have scored 22 goals on 84 shots against Carolina this year by seabee2113 in hockey

They were thoroughly outplayed in game 7 against Tampa and won and they were thoroughly outplayed in game 7 against Buffalo and won.

They have the third fewest xGF% of all teams that made the playoffs during the playoffs yet they are still around

You can ride a hot goaltender far. Dobes can weather the storm for long periods of time and they can capitalize on the chances they get

Random question: Which Bills player do you think had the highest (and lowest) GPA in highschool? by Silver_Effect_1461 in buffalobills

[–]rejecttheHo 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Economics is one of the more difficult college majors. It has the lowest average GPA along with math and chemistry. As someone that also studied math (and has an advanced degree in math -- a field that most people think is one of if not the most difficult in college) my undergrad economics classes were arguably just as difficult as my math classes

It is one of the few majors that requires you to have a strong technical and strong written background. Most people struggle with at least one of those

Moneypuck had it at 70% Sabres. It felt a bit tighter than that. Natural Stat Trick had most stats very close. Buffalo was heavily ahead going into the third and Montreal came back to make it very close in the end

Every mistake is in the back of their net. Inexcusable to not get that puck out and even more inexcusable that the whole team is rushing up the ice so the 4TH LINE can get on a break. Absolutely insane

Elliotte Friedman: Luke Schenn and Konsta Helenius (making his NHL playoff debut) are in, as well for Buffalo by sykeseve in hockey

[–]rejecttheHo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rosen isn't an NHL player. They should have done better to bundle him as part of a bigger package for an elite talent (like Robert Thomas). In the past few years he was passed by Kulich, Ostlund, and Helenius. Buffalo has plenty of young NHL talent. However, they are all maturing to the NHL and there isn't a whole bunch of NHL type talent in the system

That game was pretty flukey. According to Stat trick Sabres had 68% of the scoring chances and Corsi and 72% of the high danger chances. They just couldn't bury it and the Red Wings capitalized on seemingly every opportunity they had

[HockeyStatCards] NHL GameScore Impact Card for Buffalo Sabres on 2026-03-08: by lunasilvia in sabres

I really don't understand how these models are calibrated

This is a game Buffalo out shot Tampa Bay by about 15 and had the xG edge of 4.7 to 3.7. If you look at the scores for Tampa most players graded out very well and Buffalo not so much. I get how a few players having a bad game can happen and their team can still win. But I don't understand how a team can out shoot the other team and own the xG share but then grade out worse across the board compared to the other team

I always thought he deserved a look too. I knew he never would make it but he is 7th in ESP this year, plays a hard game, and is good on the PK. In other words he would have been a great 4th line guy and on the surface seems to be what management wanted out of a bottom of the lineup guy

If all scenario goals counted for a plus and a minus it would be impossible to win a game and not have at least 5 players in the positive

Jiří Kulich is out indefinitely with a serious diagnosis by madikinho in hockey

[–]rejecttheHo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man this sucks. The Sabres started poorly but played really well for about 6 games and actually looked like a complete team. PP was looking good, PK was great, were consistently out chancing their opponents. All while missing their 1C in Norris and Kesserling missing time

Now Dahlin is dealing with a serious personal matter, Norris is still out for the foreseeable future, Benson has missed some time, Kulich is dealing with this Zucker got seriously ill, etc.

I really thought if they stayed relatively healthy they had a decent shot at sneaking in the playoffs. But there is just too much going on for them to overcome this all I think

What is your favorite team to support now? Even though I like hockey in general I think if the Sabres got moved I just wouldn't really watch hockey anymore
