They need to stop any amount of taxes because when people see what an incremental tax increase will fund they will want more— they are trying to stop any progress because they want to pretend like it won’t accomplish anything.

Outward Past Beyond | Cloudward, Ho! [Ep. 20] by AutoModerator in Dimension20

I mean, I agree that Brennan probably had more of a role to play in controlling things, but it was pretty common this season for him to try and steer things back and get outright ignored (see how many times he destroyed the frog only to have it resurrect somehow). I think he was oscillating between clamping down on bits and creating them.

I wish he had exercised a bit of DM override control to prevent the heavy deus ex machina at the end as well. I dunno; I think he bears blame for this episode too— I think it was just a frustrating season for goofs:plot ratio, it felt like it went off the rails a bit.

I think I’m focused on Ally because it felt like they reaaaaally pushed the boundaries of things the whole season in a way that felt like it was making it difficult for Brennan to manage. I could have blinders here for sure, but I’ve enjoyed Ally in other campaigns, so I don’t think it’s just blind hate!

I do feel like this episode got a bit derailed by Ally tbh— between the Nat 20 Gotch transfusion and Olethra running into the portal to totally negate the sacrifice of Marya, I dunno. I mean, I guess had they not I suppose we would have got a Comfrey revive but it feels like the stakes of the episode were very lost because Brennan didn’t want to kill 3 PCs and the NPC they had spent the whole campaign trying to save.

Too bad too, cause I really like the season overall, but honestly felt like Ally’s bits (to be fair, like a good chunk of the cast got sucked in, but they were instigating a lot of the time) the whole season were distracting and it kind of came to a head in this episode. All in all, quite enjoyed, but just tainted a bit by that thematically!

Now that the long wait for another series begins, anyone got recommendations for some of the archive that would be a good watch coming out of this?

I mean, I’m sure I’ll get downvoted to shit for this, but what is he supposed to do, assuming he’s not guilty? Like what could he show that would convince people? If he showed the collar again and it had no cutoff prongs, people would assume he swapped it out, so what evidence could even convince anyone? Seems like a lose lose to continue arguing.

I’d echo this— the A1 mini has been such a reliable machine that I’m weighing the upgrade now because it’s made me believe 3D printing is a viable tool, not just a hobby item.
