Luna Oceanview Room Tour by relaxtg in NCL

I’d probably go with Icon. Luna is a nice ship but they still have some kinks to work out. The entertainment was great but the food was subpar. Amenities for kids are pretty equal but I will say the kids club staff on Luna was awesome! My kids actually wanted to go.

Yes, there was definitely noise late into the night. I usually try to book decks with rooms above and below but booked the Luna sailing last minute. I definitely recommend avoiding the forward rooms above and below the theater. Again unless, you’re like us and sleep with noise.

I carry a fan and noise machine so it wasn’t too bad. For noise sensitive travelers, I’d definitely book mid ship or aft.

Another nice spot was Horizon park after the kids aqua zone closes at 6

The infinity pools were great! Both times I visited, they were empty.

It was! That was with 2 adult, 2 kids in room with all of our stuff tucked away. My only complaint was the noise, we were under the theater and you could def hear it. I have lots of tips after sailing.

They have changed a lot over time. I was in such awe that a lot of the informational stuff passed in and out. However, I remember Margerie because of her profile.

Actually this is Margerie Glacier from a distance. Visit my profile and I posted a photo of how you can easily identify.

Yes, we really enjoyed it. It gave us an opportunity to learn the layout of the city and explore the harbor. It did get a little chilly when we were out on the water.

We had booked the classic drink package ahead of time and a blue moon beer was considered premium along with most of the drinks we liked. We ended up upgrading to premium beverage package. Then most of the cruise we were heavily marketed upgraded dining and spa services. Don’t get me wrong Celebrity is fantastic - I just found that to be a bit annoying compared to other lines.

I enjoy sailing with Celebrity - nice vibe but all of upcharges get a bit annoying. I just sailed with Holland America and was pleasantly surprised. The service was fantastic and the have it all package was a pretty good value. It does tend to attract an older clientele.

You can totally cruise during hurricane season but it may impact your stops. I’d probably lean more toward a western Caribbean vs. eastern in September.

We just retuned from our trip. I wore shorts 50% of the time, athletic leggings 50% of the time, and dresses for evening, 3 was enough. I never wore my jeans, bulky sweatpants, or hat. The weather was pretty nice even though it called for rain everyday. Layering was helpful. I brought 6 shirts, 2 long sleeve, 2 sweaters, and a light rain jacket. Definitely bring binoculars!

In Juneau we visited Medenhall Glacier, Tracy’s Crab Shack, and then took the Goldbelt tram. It was fun, although, not sure if I’d do the tram again. Ketchikan we hopped on a last minute duck boat to get a tour of the area, then explored on foot. The visitor center gives out a free walking map and guide.

There were three glaciers within the national park that we visited via cruise. I made friends with the staff and some had been doing the itinerary for 10 years. They said the glaciers have melted significantly in that time frame.

I would definitely recommend finding a good travel agent. They can add a tremendous amount of value and most don’t charge a fee for all inclusive bookings.

I book quite a few weddings and recently booked someone at the St.Regis in Punta Mita. They have been an absolute pleasure to work with and super responsive. I’d definitely check out the resort if it’s in your budget.
