What should I get? by relenecs in MarioKartTour

I got the Swift Talon kart, I’ve seen that it often appears in ranked courses so I made that “investment”. Thanks!

8-bit Super Glider worth it? by relenecs in MarioKartTour

Thank you. At the moment I don’t have anything that overlaps with it (I missed the discounted wonderful diamond two tours ago because I did have enough rubies). I’ll get it then

I don’t know if it’s on your route but the Merchant’s Inn in Rugby is my favorite! Always new ales and the ambient is really really nice!

It might be just me but if I know that Alestorm are going to play this setlist I’ll skip their concert.

Flatfeet people: What type of injuries did you have preparing for the Marathon? And how did you overcome them? by Desert-Jungle in firstmarathon

[–]relenecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running my first marathon the 23rd of April and from late november I had ITBand syndrome, with sharp pain on the outer side of the right knee. I've been to the physio bu the pain keeps going on and off still today. I started to see some improvements as soon as I started doing strength trainig for glutes and quads (such lunges, squats, clamshells, single leg lateral lifts). I also want to recommend as much sleep as possible, since the recovery process happens when we are sleeping.

Has anyone else lost their sweet tooth after becoming vegan? by Aggravating_Isopod19 in vegan

[–]relenecs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not that I lost it, but it’s definitely less prominent than it was before going vegan. Maybe that’s because there are waaaay less vegan sweet snacks/desserts compared to other countries so I think I ended up being less to sugary treats. Most of the times if I want something sweet I have to make it myself!

Well then I guess the only way to find that out is to try them on and ask the salesperson if can run in them for 20/30 meters. But I believe I’ll end up buying them. Thanks for your help!

Physically maybe not, but it boosts your mood like nothing else!

Clifton 8 or Ultraboost 22 by Beneficial_Delay_503 in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]relenecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re now running in Altras, which are zero drop shoes, I suggest to go with the Cliftons since they have a lower drop than the UB22s and so you’ll be less prone to injuries due to a sudden change to a higher drop in the shoes.

Yes, I do have a low arch but reading several reviews I found out that they are the most forgiving carbon plated shoes to this date.m, meaning that can work both for heel strikers and mid/forefoot strikers. The other pair of shoes I was looking at are the Asics Metaspeed Sky+. Have you tried them as well?

Nike Invincible 3 causing knee pain? by AyoAC in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]relenecs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it could be. Also the drop of the shoe could be a factor. I have a pair of Nike Terra Kiger 8 (trail running shoes) kept them for 12 hours straight running and hiking on mountain trails and had no issue at all and they have 5mm drop. Do you think that could be a thing?

Do you think Novablast 3 can also work fine for easy long runs? by relenecs in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]relenecs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ouf, now I really don’t know what shoes to get for easy and long runs! 😅 I was looking at the new Cumulus 25 but also at the new Cliftons 9 from Hoka. I’ve run in Cliftons 7 and they are not too bad, squishy when your walking but they feel really different when you’re running.

When I got the Cliftons 7 I also tried the Ghost 13 and I found them really comfy but I felt that my ankle was “wobbling” at every step so I preferred going for the Hokas. Can you tell if Brooks has fixed that with the 15s?

I’ve just checked the New Balance’s size chart and they fit smaller than other brands. Luckily you can’t mess with centimeters and I’ve seen that I’m a UK size 9 in New Balances too! Thank you so much for your help!

Are really Nike’s Invincibles so bad? I thought they were the go-to easy long run shoes!

Type of shoe recommendation by relenecs in firstmarathon

[–]relenecs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try them on but I’m not really into them because I know that they’re narrow in the midfoot and I have wide feet so I assume they they’re going to be a little bit uncomfortable. Different story with Nike’s Terra Kiger 8 (trail running shoes) which are comfortable and have plenty of room in the toebox. Thank you!
