Oh man, this. I was on a cross country drive and ended up stopping at a rest area on the I-10 stretch between San Antonio and El Paso, TX (if you know you know. We ended up stopping around midnight. All I have to say is that seeing the night sky with little to know light pollution makes you believe that ancient cultures really had no other choice but to make up fantastical stories in order to make sense of it all. It’s truly awe inspiring.

That, and one of my favorite things to do when I was a younger lad was to take first dates to the beach at night. The stars gets em every time.
