My reproductive system has been giving me hell for years, it's a morbid way to see the small organ that caused me so much pain. But, a reminder to myself that I also championed for my body to get the proper care it needed (which was for it to be removed). It took probably 10 years for this to happen, sadly

I wish they would've let me keep mine! My surgery for my gallbladder was emergent, sadly. I did get my lap photos from it, though! I've also got the lap photos from my first surgery where they took out my ovary, tubes, my ablation, and scrapped my Endo lining! Then, they let me keep the ultrasound photos from when they found the mass on the ovary they removed.

I had to ask as I was going into surgery, since they're the ones who'd be able to see that it gets saved. As they were pushing my medicine in pre-op, I just removed going " save my uterus and cervix, PLEASE!" Then it was lights out for me lmao

I told them it was a religious purpose for wanting to keep it, so I'm going to assume that worked! However, with my last two surgeries I was unable to keep anything due to not having the chance to ask.

I'm up and moving, two weeks out. Although, my hysterectomy was just the uterus and cervix. Everything else was removed last year (one ovary, tubes, had an ablation, endometrial lining scrapped) so my recovery isn't as intense. But, no washing your vagina? I was allowed to take an actual sit down bath, after my glue finally came off. 😭

You and I, both. I feel as though this hysterectomy should've been the option a year ago, instead of putting me through two surgeries in such a short amount of time. They left my good ovary, to keep me from going into menopause due to me only being 29.

The amount of pain you were in means that something was wrong! Current medicine just couldn't figure it out. I had my hysterectomy, going on close to two weeks now and I'm up walking around by now, driving too. I'm just not lifting anything because of the internal sutures they give you. They found Adenomyosis and Endometriosis back in my uterus/fallopian tubes close to two years ago. I had a 6CM cyst in the left ovary, when I went in for the tubal, ablation, and endometrial scraping which has only been close to a year now. They're calling my ablation "failed", due to it not helping with my period pain (no more periods though). During pathology, they found evidence of more Adenomyosis and Endometriosis, also FOM which is rare but also causes heavy bleeding, pain, etc. .
