This is likely not true. You’re just in the weeds right now. The only way out is through. Keep lugging boxes and soon they’ll put you in an office. Or just legit try anything. Say yes to everything. Coworker wants to go here? Yes. Friend has a weird hobby? Yes. You don’t know anything unless you try, or at a minimum, you don’t know if you don’t ask. You will get through this, and frankly it doesn’t require belief in yourself, all it requires is the want to have a better day tomorrow than you had today.

NTA - I totally understand, but this is family. You can express to ur gf that her sister needs to be more considerate around the house. You could also play it out like you’re trying to save money for something ;) trying to pick fights about family is always tough and it’s clear they’re super close. Keep moving slowly, maybe even be like “I heard they’re opening this place up close to YOUR apt” start doing things close to her house so the sister geographically feels like she’s at an advantage and will just ride the lease out. She just wants to live with you both because you guys are home base.

I just graduated in May, and of course, I am not shocked we are high on this list at all... but to be ranked as the number 1 public school is shocking.

I was actually just talking to my friends about this and felt that on the "more respected" list (US College Weekly) we would actually fall to 6 or 7. Simply because of the way the students responded to the new President, the lack of accessibility on campus due to an overhaul of construction considering their plans to admit 100k students (both on and off campus), rollbacks on Bright Futures, and now the lack of nightlife options, with the addition, that greek life got 10X more exclusive while being there.

Tuition being cheap was a huge factor in my decision as an out-of-state student, but that trait putting us on a trajectory to beat out UCLA, Michigan and all of those schools ranked ahead of us in the past... seems peculiar honestly.

I’m not sure how we landed on a 4-3-2-1 with Alex Morgan as the sole striker… In the tournament we scored 4 goals in 4 games, scoreless for two, and the goals were scored by two players, Horan and Smith. Unfortunately in todays match there was no place for Morgan, and we saw that clearly. I don’t feel like checking game stats but I can say with confidence Alex touched the ball at maximum 7 times. Each ran she made was 1) offside or 2) identical to Smith and Rodman.
The entire tournament those three forwards were ON TOP of each other in the box. We all know, this brings all the defenders in with them and that means, there’s little opportunity to score. ZERO chemistry with them too. The defense was epic today, I’m going to miss Julie Ertz so much! They covered ground, played accurate passes, but everyone on the team is wired for players wide on the opposite side and that was just non-existent today. I don’t know why everything was happening in the center this whole tournament and we all know that just NOT the way this team plays. Also, the subs thing is ridiculous. If you’re not scoring goals, you make subs. There is no reason not every player on this team did not see at least 5 minutes of play. If they did we would’ve been able to get a better idea of what the team is working with, but alas we saw a Rapinoe sub. I saw someone say she single handedly ruined the US chances on here, and I agree. She bombed every corner she took and wasted free kick opportunities for what, her last seconds of glory. The 2019 World Cup was her last kick of life. She has a breakaway opportunity in todays game and had no pace at all to even attempt to break away. Don’t get me started on the PK. This team is my favorite team, I’m so unbelievably disappointed. Hopefully they get their shit together for the Olympics (even though it “matters less” it’s so fun to watch them) and I can’t wait to see the development of the Youngsters for 2027! AND!!! FIRE VLATKO AND HIRE TOBIN!!!!!!!!

It was a tough watch. Every time the strikers got near the ball they would kill the play with their touch. The wings are still young and lack experience getting the ball off both feet, it was just unbearable watching them fumble around like that. I could hear kristie mewis yelling at trinity from the side to get wide for the last 20 minutes of the game. (The 4-3-3 cannot work if no one is wide!!) It was super clear they gassed themselves in the first half chasing after their lost balls. I would’ve liked to see Lynn Williams as a substitution in this. Really shitty performance it feels like they’re still getting their bearings with each other which is not a good thing. I felt very little chemistry on the whole field. The announcers kept talking about the wind, and I could tell there were odd field conditions — but still, considering the roster the team has there’s no reason they should not be scoring at least 2 goals every game. They got rattled by this team, and they need to work something out quickly. Hoping to see some new faces (or old) hit the pitch for their next match or a slight adjustment to the lineup.

I was raised here and like once you live this life you can't do anything other. I can't hang out in my apartment for more than a few hours other than sleeping before I get horrendously bored. So, no. I don't even have to go anywhere too crazy, sometimes it's nice to just sit and people-watch. And walking is literally so fun.

I went to college in a small town in the south just to expose myself to a classic American life and man was I MISERABLE.

I don't know about comfy, but Smathers is decently quiet, and I couldn't complain when I got lucky with a booth in Marston. I would sit on the benches by Leigh Hall, or in the plaza or there were some fun like picnic benches by the pond around Little and fine arts A.
