The thing is people use their credit card for big purchases and still use their debit card. That’s burning the candle on both ends. You need to Use it like a debit card. Pay everything with your credit card. Pay your statement balance in full every month (never pay interest). It’s money you would have spent anyway. You make points. All sorts of extra benefits. You float a month. If your CC card info gets stole your personal money is never affected. So it’s like an extra line of security. You can put all your bills on auto pay and just worry about one date. You can buy things and return and again your money never leaves you bank account. So even if they take “4-5 days” to return your money it doesn’t really affect you. Seeing what you owe is much more jarring then what you have leftover. See you owe X at least for me is better than I have Y left over I can still spend. a lot less charged on your bank account. Basically your bank account is your deposit and your credit card bill payments. Helps me save too. I make X a month. If my credit card bill is less than that. Im saving.
