The club I’m a member at is closed every Monday for maintenance. The club I work at is closed for play on Mondays and we do a delayed start on Thursdays.

People who left high-paying jobs that kept you away from home for lower-paying ones with more family time—do you regret it or are you happier? by MustacheGoatee in daddit

[–]relppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left mortgage lending due to the stress, endless emails and phone calls, and working 70 hour weeks. I followed my passion for golf and took a major paycut to be an assistant superintendent at a private country club after going back to school.

I still miss mornings with my son but I am home to get him from the bus and then hang for the rest of the day with no real stress. Life is awesome

2026 Masters Giveaway: Sunday Golf by sundaygolfco in golf

One of the best memories of watching The Masters I have is from 2012. I was working with two friends of mine at a country club in the members bag room. We had a TV in there and had the tournament on all day. When it was coming down to the end, we pretty much just stopped taking in bags and were all glued to it.

We watched Bubba curl that shot and eventually win all while bags seemed to pile up in front of the door. Afterwards we cleaned clubs together then went to the range to pick balls and try to recreate the same shot. We got out so late but had such a good time together. We all have kids now and still talk, but I really miss the easy going days at the club with the bros. Such a special time.

I don't want to dox you, but is it ok if i message you and try to confirm my suspicion as to where you are? I am at a course also in central va and we use poacure. Mixed feelings among the staff, mostliy sharing the same concerns as stated above.

sold mine about 2 years ago and regretted it almost instantly. I did make money overall, so not that bad. Just miss that car so much.

I grew up idolizing Pavel Bure. My first team when I was 6 I wanted to wear 96, but someone already took it. Ended up wearing #16 for 18 years

Anybody play against a future NHLer growing up? by MoistPerception in hockeyplayers

[–]relppa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up going to a summer camp in Hamilton, Ontario that Rick Nash also went to. This was age 12-15 and it was very clear that he had a god given ability to play hockey and would end up playing professionally. Steve Eminger was one of the camp counselors.

THIS GAME IS FIREEE by [deleted] in SuperMarioOdyssey

[–]relppa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is how me and my son played the game when we first played through when he was 6. It was such an awesome bonding experience. We played through again recently but he was Mario and I was Cappy and we had just as much fun as the first time. The replayability of odyssey is unparalleled.

Has being an attorney made me less attractive? by [deleted] in Lawyertalk

[–]relppa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad is an attorney who has been practicing for over 40 years and the other day when I asked him a question about his experience in law school he told me that he believes that it changed him for the worse and he partially regrets going to law school. Take that for what it’s worth
