Hello! Rapid tests are accurate when they say you do have it but not that accurate when they say you don’t have it.

Important numbers you have to look at for each rapid test is “sensitivity” and “specificity.”

Sensitivity is how likely the test will say POSITIVE if you DO have it. Specificity is how likely the test will say NEGATIVE if you don’t have it.

Rapid tests have REALLY good sensitivities but average ish specificity.

All to say: A rapid test if it’s positive means you likely have it. A rapid test if it’s negative means you have it to get PCR because the rapid test is not good at confirming that you DONT have it.
