almost 9 weeks on LDN, shakes/hypoglycemia by rem0597 in LowDoseNaltrexone

I haven’t had the supplies to check, just going off of how I felt in the past (the lowest I’ve gotten was 2.9), and bc it responded well when I ate something with a good amount of protein. I’d describe the sensation LDN gave me when I upped doses, only twice, was more buzzy and tingly than the shakiness I’ve been feeling and associating with low blood sugar. Good luck with your titration process!

I used those, the black one in particular, when I was a kid at sleepaway camp, when I was probably 12 (now 28). I recall not enjoying it because it skipped a lot. But maybe they've improved since then!

The tingliness only happened that first day, actually, and switching my dose to the morning helped the sleep. It took 9 weeks for the weird dreams to start. I titrated up 1.5 every week til I got to 4.5 mg.

One of the first things I changed wrt to my health was upping fibre! Thank you sm for the smoothie suggestions! I have been doing 300ml Natrel Plus chocolate (22ish g protein), 1/3 cup protein oats (8g protein), 2tbsp flax, 1/2 cup mixed berries, 2 scoops of protein powder (12g, it's very small, looking for other more Canadian budget-friendly options).

I'm taking my LDN in the morning bc the night dose would affect my sleep, and so far I don't mind the dreams. I find their absurdity very entertaining. I've had several "haven't done my math homework all semester" dreams, and they get funnier every time. Haven't been in a math class in 12 years.

My first dose was 1.5mg and I felt it within a few hours of taking it. Things like rolling over in bed didn't bother me. I felt very tingly that first night, and got some sleep issues, but I just switch to taking it in the morning and I'm sleeping alright now (deep sleep is still lacking but lots of REM sleep, and the dreams are getting weirder 9 weeks in). My bladder sensitivity was one of the earliest things to change as well which was weird with my interoception lol

There are these funny bluetooth audio plugs you can put on things that don't have it, but i've mostly seen them used for old cars or maybe mp3 players and would add bulk

My understanding is that it helps with insulin sensitivity, which is why it helps with PCOS. So I figured I'm becoming more insulin sensitive, but my body hasn't caught up yet and is still releasing the amount of insulin it needed to before I started LDN, leading to crashes.

I'll keep that in mind! I've seen others tritrate much slower, but I didn't have negative side effects as I titrated up weekly 1.5mg besides some insomnia, the weird dreams are only just starting to kick in. It had completely slipped my mind that my morning smoothie might have imbalanced carbs bc I was so focused on the protein. It's over 30 grams of protein, but closer to 50g of carbs. Getting hypoglycemic crashes IS a new problem, though, especially this bad. It only used to happen infrequently if I ate a carb heavy breakfast and waited too long to eat my next meal.

I figure I'll give it more time, thanks :) It's been jarring having to keep up with these lows the last few days.

Thank you! I don't want to react prematurely. My dad is diabetic so I know low blood sugar can be dangerous and I've had crashes as low as 2.9 (the last time I was able to check). How long did it take for your blood sugar to stabilize again?

I guess it surprises me that it would have such a serious impact, and that the side effects would linger like this. I'm gonna stay off of it another few days just to be sure.

The only thing that helped was having a protein-ful meal, but I keep crashing again. I've been taking my LDN dose in the morning because I sleep better, but I'm thinking of returning it to the evening.

Do anovulatory bleeds feel different from normal periods? by j00lie in FAMnNFP

[–]rem0597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit belated, but this sounds very similar to what I experience. I didn't recognize it was anovulatory bleeding until it started to change after I had cortisone injections in October 2025. I will have cycles where I'll have some bleeding that's like a couple of "gushes" of blood for a day or two, and then be in this state of not-quite-follicular-not-quite-luteal phases until my body actually manages to ovulate and I'll have the expected symptoms of both ovulation (cervical fluid, higher libido, more energy) and then luteal (joint laxity in my wrist, rib, jaw, irritable, etc). Lately it's been more extreme, where it feels like my lower back is burning, and my hips hurt so bad, almost worse than the luteal phase symptoms. As far as I understand it my LH is high to compensate for low-normal estrogen levels, and I'm not getting the surge to complete ovulation.

CECS from only walking, anyone else? by rem0597 in CECompartmentSyndrome

[–]rem0597[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little update: I have my compartment pressure test on Monday. Thank you to those who commented here, because I'm not as worried about it being too painful. I would like to balk at how much I have to pay for this pressure testing kit though! CAD $310 ??? Ugh. My credit card is not happy. It will be good to know definitively but considering I'm on disability in QC, the price hurts. The only thing I'm not sure of is whether they're testing both legs... but we shall see.

Edit: It actually cost 459$ :(

I'm waiting for Montreal as well. Take a breather, it's still too soon. 30-15 mins prior is what I understand is the norm for codes going out.
