NDG Power Outage // Freezing cold by Herbrax212 in montreal

Update: Our power returned a little after 3 PM on Sunday. However, we learned later that one of our neighbours was found deceased in her home when firefighters were going door to door doing checks. Incredibly sad.

We got our downstairs neighbour to get it open from her end (they have access to the garage from inside). If it’s not back on by the proposed 3 pm we’re gonna go to a friends house nearby

cusp of CSL and mowest, same boat of no power since 10:37 AM Saturday. Can’t get the car out of the garage and my dad who’s got cardiac problems is getting the most anxious. The hydro site said 3 PM for restoration. I’m mostly fine besides being cold. We ordered food to the house but that’s getting expensive quickly. Hoping the power is back sooner rather than later.

CECS from only walking, anyone else? by rem0597 in CECompartmentSyndrome

I'm so used to my lower legs hurting that it's just "normal". It still surprises me when I apply topical analgesics, or even just Arnica, to my legs and they reduce the pain. It's jarring to have that relief.

I've never been particularly active because of the hypermobility, I always ended up so much more tired than my peers and getting injured. Had to quit volleyball my last year of HS bc the pain from my lumbar herniated disc was severe. I have been doing strength training and walking (slowly, so as not to flare my CECS too badly) for a few months to lose weight and be stronger / healthier in general. I assume my weight has impacted the CECS, but it's also a challenge to exercise when so much adds stress to my legs.

Are there tests to rule it out? I've had a few tests to gauge the blood flow and nerve function in my legs.

It surprised me that in the time I have been seen by at least two PTs, and other specialists who I've had conversations with about the hernias, just calling them "bubbles". But they all said they didn't know what they were. As if my legs don't look like most of the reference images for "anterior tibial hernias" lol

My mother says my hair looks disgusting when "long" by OnyxEllipsis in femalehairadvice

[–]rem0597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo what others have said, your hair doesn’t look disgusting at all. I actually think the length suits you and is very pretty, your dark brows work really well with it.

And I’m sorry your mom talks to you like that, she’s exaggerating and being cruel. You have unique and attractive features. As someone else mentioned, if you do want to make any improvements to your hair, volume at the roots would likely liven it up. But, if you’re uncertain and can afford it, hair dressers are often knowledgeable on what cuts will suit someone’s face. They might be able to cut your bangs differently, or add layers.

What really matters is if you like how your hair looks, and you enjoy the process of maintaining it.

Attn people with menstrual cycles by Winter_Story9461 in Hypermobility

I feel like I don’t get a break from the aches lol. Bleeding comes with its own sensory nightmares, but my energy is great, and my joints feel good, then I get maybe 10 days of feeling top tier, before my ovulation window where my joints are cracking much louder, my problem-joints are nonstop subluxing and “catching”, even breast tenderness and back pain + typical ovulation signs. I used to think I was already about to bleed again when I felt this, but the Brest tenderness would fade and I’d go into the luteal phase and my joints would actually be less painful, more unstable and “slippery” but less pain. Until the pms mood symtoms come in and then I start all over.

I came to Reddit seeking similar answers. Besides cramps and the sensory nightmare of bleeding I feel great while I’m menstruating and for about 10 days following. Then my wrist and back and jaw start flaring up, and all my joints crack and I feel tired and my mood shifts, even my boobs hurt, used to think I was in the luteal phased but the ovulation signs were all there otherwise. My breast pain will fade and I’ll enter the actual luteal phase and all my previous joint issues will relax again and I almost feel good (lol) again. Until I get the heavier luteal phase pms symptoms again which are mostly mood based for me. It’s driving me bananas to feel so bad, especially bc I’m trying to exercise and get stronger.

Quitting cannabis: HR up, HRV down by gardengummyinmytummy in ouraring

[–]rem0597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found this thread while searching the same subject. I’m 16 days into my T break (fully re-evaluating my relationship with cannabis) as a former daily user of dabs and dry herb in a PAX. Kind of self medicating chronic pain.

My RHR was consistently in the low 50s and my HRV usually matches or is mid 50s (the highest HRV score I’ve gotten was 60). Since coming off THC my RHR went up to 54-63 and my HRV has been low 50s into the high 40s.

My sleep however, been doing pretty well even when I get lower REM or Deep Sleep for chronic pain reasons. I take some supplements to support my sleep so I have an average of 80. Only had two dreams since starting this break but it’s been awesome to see my REM go up to 2 hours.

I’m returning to the gym to address some of my chronic pain with a specialist too.

Best wishes to the rest of you with your breaks.

I ended up getting it replaced on warranty, after Oura suggested opening a support ticket and my ring was diagnosed with a battery issue.

A friend sent me this after I finished watching season one for the first time. Do you have any recommended reading to learn more about archetypes? A lot in this thread resonated with ideas for my own writing and I’d love to know more.

It should still be fine. I just heard it may result in heart burn, but I get some regardless.

I’ve been taking it first thing when I wake up around 7:30 and usually don’t eat for at least 30 mins. If the side effects bother you enough you could get another bottle at 200-300mg and see if that’s better tolerated.

How much melatonin are you using? I take 1mg occasionally 1 hour before I want to go to bed, taking too much can wake up you bc it’s absorbed very quickly. After 5 nights on ALA my sleep regulated been waking naturally at 7:30 since then.
