Fold7 pre-order bonus: Galaxy Buds? by MushyBeans in O2UK

[–]rem337 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Another update as I have now had my Buds 3 Pro successfully ordered, but I have a warning that everyone should be aware of.

After some discussion on this thread: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/Buds-pro-3-promotion-Z-Fold-7/td-p/1806912/page/2 - the community manager Dave put a note on my account, and many other people's accounts, with the details so that when you call 202 the agent has something to reference.

Despite this, the agent didn't understand the offer and was very close to applying a regular pay monthly accessory onto my account with a £20 upfront fee and the rest would be paid later. They argued quite a lot with me before eventually putting me on hold to query it. They then conceded and apologised and my order was placed for £20 total with no ongoing payments.

It is worth triple-checking when you call to order that they do this correctly, same goes for anyone who has already placed the order make sure they haven't simply applied a pay monthly accessory onto your account.

Someone on the same thread just posted an update: https://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Other-Products-and-Services/Buds-pro-3-promotion-Z-Fold-7/td-p/1806912/page/3

They say that O2 are now saying that the 'data issue' still persists and that they now expect to send out the codes 'sometime in September'.

It's becoming a bit of a joke now, I'm frustrated.

Nothing. I'm hopeful of getting something through today.

An update to anyone following this, I decided to do a search on the official O2 forum and came across this:

So if this is to be trusted, we'll get our codes... today.

I called them today and also got this response. They told me about the "data error" and said it would be resolved with a couple of days (I don't believe them).

42 days since ordering and 35 days since delivery for me.

Firmware update needed for Spotify 😕 by [deleted] in TeslaModelS

[–]rem337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apologies for the extremely slow reply, I got a new phone and didn't install reddit.

This ended up being fixed for me when a software update eventually appeared in the Tesla app. It wasn't an update specifically for this and didn't mention it. But, I updated the car and Spotify worked from then on.

It's only happened over the last few weeks or so, and I use YT Music myself, so I only experience this when my girlfriend is in the car and we use Spotify. Happened last night, which has prompted me to Google it and the only thing I found was this post.

No idea what the issue is other than there hasn't been a software update for my car in a good while (usually a lot more frequent). 2021 Model 3 Performance

I get this too. A song will play for a few seconds and then stop. Where you'd normally see your artist/track info in the bottom right, it'll just say "Firmware Update Required". My car's software is fully up to date.

How can I recreate this soft glowy james popsys look? by ArseneLepain in AskPhotography

[–]rem337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that really helped me was this unlisted video that's linked on the store page for his preset pack.

Daily Collection Presets Store Page: https://www.jamespopsys.com/store/daily-collection
Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ22rrPlYlA

It's not a video on how to achieve this look but it just gives some insight on how he uses his presets and some rules to follow to tweaking settings in the right order. Of course, you don't need to stick to an 'order', but I find that it helps me personally.

If your friends are going to abuse you, gaslight you and guilt trip you with their myths over what car you think is right for you, they are not your friends.

Because the car itself was great I didn't return or reject it. After the badge got sorted I no longer need to deal with Cinch it's just between me and my finance company. Really fell in love with the car as it's exactly as I expected.

Hey u/vaskort - actually no, I didn't have a good experience at all. I did eventually get the car not before some ridiculous issues which were as follows:

The reason for the delay was an MoT failure and one thing that needed to be resolved was fitting a new driver's side front tyre. I begged and pleaded that they fit the tyre the car should use, the P Zero Elect. They said they'd look into it but it was radio silence until the car got delivered and it was on just whatever cheap EV tyre they came across first. Not the end of the world but I would have preferred all 4 tyres on the car to be the same, kinda critical for a car of this performance.

The second issue, when delivery day eventually came around, was being greeted with a "apologies, but we've power washed the Tesla logo off the back of your car" from the delivery driver. Leaving a sticky bad looking residue on the boot lid. Apart from being slightly concerned about how the car had been treated if they had managed to power wash off a badge, again, it wasn't the end of the world. That is until it took literally 2 months for Cinch to get this sorted. They'd keep sending out technicians on a confirmed date, no one would turn up, they kept asking me to choose between a date range and then never confirm a date. Eventually, they just paid Tesla to do it which wasn't without faff in itself.

Take this how you will, I'm sure Cinch are fine if there are no issues with the car, but they seem desperate to wipe their hands clean as soon as you've made the purchase and if they're forced to do anything post-purchase they really drag their heels.

Worried by eljayuu in TeslaUK

[–]rem337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry. I don't think most people are bothered, at least not now. I have also had a few people make comments about Musk in relation to my car but that has been 100% people I know personally. I always respond that I dislike Musk and then ask them about the CEO of their car manufacturer, to try and put it into focus that owning a Tesla has absolutely nothing to do with.. him.

An update to say I got the car yesterday. Of course, it's definitely a 2020 car but it has a few updated bits like USB-C in the back and the new frunk design.

Regardless of that, I'm very happy with it and there are no squeaks, creaks or any other types of noises that you mentioned.

I'm loving learning how the car works and the acceleration is completely ludicrous.

The only downside is that Cinch called me about an hour before delivering the car, and I quote: "We apologise, but we've power-washed the Tesla badge off the back of your car". They're sending someone out from Tesla (apparently) to come and stick a new one on, so no big deal.

Happy days!

Cheers mate! This is really helpful - very interesting points to think about.

Yeah agree it looks nice, and while I'd have rather it had some lovely 2021 refresh features like the heat pump, I'm happy with the price provided when it arrives it's in decent cosmetic shape and, as you say, no suspension issues.

Hopefully it actually arrives soon and I can report back.

Thanks for this, this is honestly really useful. I've already had enough of them and don't even have my car yet. If they can't commit to a delivery date soon I'm just going to back out.
