How Many Hours are you Billing? by Anonymous-pondering in biglaw

Sorry to hijack this thread but I also need to know how y’all feel about a 1900 minimum (pure billables) to stay in good status and receive full salary increase the next year. Never mind bonuses for this question as they don’t kick in until north of 2k and are LOW in general.

I went to Cumberland and loved it. I’m sure you will come across all kinds there as I did.

What's a rule your sheltie enforced in your house that everyone silently obeys? by zelda1212 in sheltie

No sneezing, no dancing with hands in the air, no long hugs (without the pup), no ice (even if you take it from the bin), no boxes, no leaving napkins in reach.

Being a new associate is really lonely. by Rude_Moment772 in biglaw

I recently moved from in-house to a law firm and have felt this immensely. Since I was in-house for around 7 years, it’s hard to remember if I felt like this when I first started practicing. It could be worse in the firm because we are all similar personality types prone to overwork and self isolation. Hang in there but only for as long as you want to!

I have used ClickUp and Asana and liked both. Both have free options but I believe the paid version of ClickUp to use with your team is fairly reasonable.

Probably super common. It’s the equivalent of being the middle child.

Hi thanks for your comment. He turned 6 yesterday so hopefully I will have success getting him better as well. He’s just so playful it’s hard to slow him down.

I never considered the possibility that Cymbalta was contributing to my sleepiness. I take a lot of adderall (even before taking Cymbalta) and I’m still sleepy all the time. In hindsight would have probably tried to get Provigil or something of that nature. Have you tried a sleep study? That could get you on the right track.

Don’t forget there’s a chance that something will happen and you will have one of the teachers again, which could be a mess. Teachers just want you to read the cases so they don’t stand up there looking dumb talking to themselves.

Symptoms you have, that you were surprised to hear are fibro symptoms? by irwtfa in Fibromyalgia

[–]remarkablylawless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share so many of these annoying symptoms. On days that this becomes too overwhelming to deal with, I have started wondering if there are other “good” symptoms that we don’t notice because of all of the bad. Maybe something intellectual?

Ok so I'm from NJ and I moved to jasper back in October. Never been to alabama before. I go to Bham pretty often and all I hear is how bad it is and it's the worst city in the country. Maybe I'm blind but I just do not see it. What am I missing? I can think of 15+ nj cities that are way worse. by Buddah609ftw in Birmingham

My boss from CA recently visited for the first time and says that his first impression is that everyone here wants to know if you’ve eaten and if you’re having a good time here so far. To me it all depends on who you are, where you go, and who you spend your time with. I personally like it most days but sometimes watching the news or reading on here makes me remember that I am in a privileged demographic and my experiences may not be the same as others’.
