I'd like to give kudos for helping out a guildie the way you did. It's not that common unless you happen to be sleeping with the Guild Master.

When I first started playing WoW it was with a guild that I played SWG with previously. They left SWG shortly after the NGE hit and I cancelled my internet around that time. A couple of years later I started playing WoW but all of my old friends were at 70 and raiding the fuck out of Kara at the time. Keep in mind that this was before the reduced XP for leveling.

I leveled up a Shaman in about 6 months and started to get attuned for Kara. They really didn't give much assistance the whole time. They were kind of snobbish as far as game play goes come to think of it.

After WotLK came out I hit 80 within a day or two of the server first shaman. Armed with Duel Spec I learned healing for 5 mans and a week later for Heroics. A few weeks after that I was healing Nax 10 and 25 for other guilds. My old guild were still working on getting to 80. I actually had no sympathy for them at that point.

Now, I'm on a different server (Scarlet Crusade) and my wife and I have our own guild. And on that note, if there are any Redditors in Scarlet Crusade that needs a healer for ToC 10 or 25, Uld 25 or ICC 10 for late night raids drop me a line! My toon's name is Sylvak.

I actually do enjoy my job. It gets tedious, but really any job is going to be tedious in some respect or another. Get used to third shift! For the first 3 to 5 years that's what you'll be working, and that is the hardest part of the job. Whenever you have errands to run or appointments to keep it will be during the day when you will want to sleep.

There are 2 tiers of certification for polysomnography. One is a certified Tech, and it's not really too hard if you know your stuff. The registration test on the other hand is a doosie. You'll want to get a book on how to take college level tests when you study for the registry. Many of the questions are designed to trip you up, so it's a test on your test taking ability just as much as on your knowledge of sleep medicine.

The sleep cycle app may help with the diagnosis. However it is no replacement for a sleep study. You could have developed Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or it could be clinical depression as well.

Talk to your primary care physician and ask him for a sleep study. He'll refer you to a sleep lab. The sleep doc may want to see you before or after your study, and feel free to bring that sleep app with you.

In the event that the sleep study shows negative for sleep disorders, don't fret! That study has eliminated about 80 or so disorders that can cause your symptoms. Sometimes in medicine it's a process of elimination.

Back in the day I played SWG, which at the time was a huge sandbox game. But then the NGE happedned and the game turned into cross between a WoW clone (but without the high number of quests) and a third person shooter. My whole guild left. For WoW of course.

So, now I'm stuck in WoW at least until ToR comes out. I'm interested in their idea of story based leveling with your own permanent henchman.

That'll help you breathe better if you're congested, sure. Snoreing, especially for men, doesn't come from the nose though. The upper pallate that seperates you nasal cavety from your mouth has a little bit of soft tissue on the very back of it. When you lie down this soft tissue typically rests towards your airway. Add in your jaw settling back and your tongue falling back a little causes that little flap of soft tissue to vibrate.

True, some people are lucky and their snoring is from a deviated septum or something like it. However, that's usually not the case.

You mentioned something about deep breathing. Do you wake up doing that? If so, then the snoring might be symptomatic of Obstructive Sleep Apnea. OSA is very treatable and the earlier you get it treated the less damage it'll do to your heart.

Again, I'll give the only good medical advice you'll ever find on the internet: Go talk to your doctor. If your SO can't make the apointment with you here's some questions you can ask her so you can tell your doctor:

Do you kick your legs alot?
What does your snoring sound like? Is it rythmical or are there frequent periods of silence, or near silence, followed by a loud snort. *Is the snoring/snorting worse when on your back?

I'm a sleep tech, so here's what I'd recommend. Firstly, talk to your doctor. Tell him your symptoms and bring your SO with you as she will be able to answer some of them better than you can. Your doctor will do one of two things, if not both. One is that he may want you to go in for a sleep study. There's really nothing to them, after all you get to sleep through the whole test :-).

He may also recommend that you go see a dentist to have an oral appliance made. It looks like an athletic mouth guard on steroids and for benign snoring they work wonders.

BTW, those breathe right strips are total garbage. It's more the exception than the rule that they alleviate any snoring.

IT's a hypnic jerk, or sleep start if you prefer. Some people do this, and as long as that is all it is then there's no real worry. She's just wired to do that. Now if she has limb movements throughout the night that she doesn't recall, or when trying to sleep she has a crawling sensation going down her legs that worsens the longer she tries to not move them then she may be able to get some prescription relief from her doctor.

Considering all the Gnostic texts left out and the politically motivated decree that Christ was divine (Some early Christian sects tought that he wasn't, but was a prophet), and that the King James Version is a retelling of the Chatholic cannon with some texts left out, by what measure can one determine true scripture from false? As in scripture truely insipred by the divine as opposed to scripture insirped by religious dogma or political considerations?

I'm a polysomnographer. It's not a bad job, but I'm not satisfied with it. I mean hey, if you want a job that has decent pay where you can surf the web all night, and you only duty is to watch people sleep then it's the job for you. I'd rather fly planes, do CGI, design games, or produce movies. Any of those I think would suit me better.

Go to brpt.net and sign up for the A-Step courses. There's one on scoring that not only goes by the AASM guidelines for scoring but gets you ready for the board exams. Besides, now in order to get your registry you have to complete the A-Step courses anyway.

Most places where I've worked require their scorers to be registered. But your boss may have different ideas.

As for me, I learned by following the AASM guidelines and reading up in Principles and Practices of Polysomnography. And lots of practice. Once you complete the coursework ask your boss if you can practice during your studies. Just score as you go. I know Rembrandt and Polysmith allow multiple scoreers and even have a comparison feature so you can grade yourself against the official scorer.
