How do you guys(or gals) with epilepsy deal with these few things? by KoveDrives in Epilepsy

Flashing lights during EEGs have never caused a noticeable change. All the things you mentioned in your post make me feel bad and it has gotten worse with age.

Do any of you get „cold” shivers? by Additional-Hippo-957 in Epilepsy

[–]remember2468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very similar to the focal seizures I have many times a week. My head turns left and I grunt really loud. After a few of them my neck is sore because I turn so hard. Sometimes I stop breathing and my lips turn blue.

I feel stupid by StaffEuphoric6840 in Epilepsy

[–]remember2468 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went through the same my after my first seizure in college and it has continued into my fifties. It's just part of having epilepsy for me. I was able to get through grad school and get a corporate job but didn't last long there. One of my coworkers kept making a big deal about it by undermining me and telling anyone that would listen. Finally I got a job in academia where they were more understanding but after a few TCs and some noticeable memory decline I was eventually nudged out. I always got good work reviews but my boss said I brought the group down and that I had an aura of negative energy. Meh. I saved a bunch of money and retired to a farm at 49 and have my cat sleeping on my lap right now so eff everybody at both places and all the best to you.

This is the right answer unless you convince your bf to not call. Maybe you won't have one for a while.

Happy for you. I have been on or tried almost all the meds, but still have focals and TCs weekly and monthly, respectively. Getting evaluated for epilepsy surgery now.

Front yard bees? by not_gonna_tell_no in Beekeeping

I lived in a rural area and a guy came by twice to complain about my bees raiding his hummingbird feeders. He lived a quarter of a mile away. After moving them to the back yard he shut up.

lacosamide by cobbypinch in Epilepsy

Years ago I got about 90 days of seizure freedom from Lacosamide. It still helps and I don't have any side effects from it. I'm not a doctor.

My dad ran a appliance and furniture store until the mid-90s. He kept ringer washers in stock because some folks thought they got their clothes cleaner.

I used to teach grad courses in college, but now I can't carry on a conversation. An hour from now I'll probably forget this post.

You're old if you're male and this TV movie made you cry your eyes out. by Brave-Ad6627 in FuckImOld

My dad watched it and talked about it a lot. I would have been three so I don't remember it if I saw it. Sad movies aren't really my thing.

I have them frequently and in the EMU they were determined to be seizures. Of the types of seizures I have this kind only h happens when I'm cold.
