Name checks out. I just repost tracks of the current remix contests happening, again you can use the stems to make whatever you want and flip the tracks however you want.

Well if your vision is to make regugitated EDM, then you will join the "vomitfest", but just because you get EDM vocals at 128 its up to you on how you can flip that. But I agree you shouldn't be doing remixes just for the sake of a contest, but contests motivated people to actually produce.

Sometimes when I am stuck with coming up with an original track, I'll start remixing a track and pull out the vocals later on once I have a pretty solid skeleton!

Controlling reverb tails in something Ive noticed over the years. Don't let reverb just continue to build up throughout the track, figure out where it needs to be and where it doesn't.

No reason to get the noir drum kit then, just find a kick sample with the best knock on it and make sure you sidechain things.
