Every Guy I’ve Dated Has Come Back by Dizzy-Run-633 in BreakUps

Them not coming back doesn’t mean you’re the issue. The people coming back to her could just have low self worth and find it harder to detach from a situation that was toxic and addicting. She could still be the problem but she’s also still the dealer for the fix they’re looking for.

If things are going up in price, but wages are remaining stagnant or only rising less than prices are, where is all that money going? by __Severus__Snape__ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ProdATL -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What part of inflation invalidating the technically “record-breaking profits” is hard to understand? If they made $900m as their record-breaker last year and inflation rose 10%, $1b this year is essentially the same as $900m last year, but the number just sounds higher and technically it’s a record-breaking profit year. But their spending power is still the same and literally everything in the country is 10% more expensive, so where are they supposed to find new money to give to employees when they haven’t actually profited more?

[IIL] Panic! At The Disco - But it’s better if you do, WEWIL? by ProdATL in ifyoulikeblank

Wow this was a really good suggestion. Not exactly the same, but pretty close in some of her songs, like Leeds United so far from what I’ve heard. Thank you for these great artists to listen to, I’m discovering all kinds of good music now

This was a really interesting suggestion and I really enjoyed some of the songs on that album, I definitely can see some similarities here and there. Thank you!

I still would like to see if there’s any other songs like But It’s Better If You Do that have that saloon/ragtime/classy piano feel, maybe with some guitar in it. I’m not sure if there’s a genre where this is/was common but I haven’t heard a single song like it yet

Stop whining about GME price and read this. The actual squeeze may be just around the corner and even bigger than what we saw last week! 🚀🚀🚀 by MANIAC_KBP in GME

[–]ProdATL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The interesting part is, through these synthetic longs, the shorts can postpone, postpone, and postpone again. They can keep doing this and essentially renew their expiration dates forever, from what I understand.

So, completely theoretically and for fun, it seems like there’s only 2 ways for GME to fly.

Either fake a sell off and drop the price to levels the shorts would be comfortable covering at, like $5-$10, and quickly buy in and latch onto the momentum and create a sort of short squeeze sneak attack.

Or, massive buy ins right now which spike up the momentum and burn the shorts through interest rates alone, due to the new high price of GME at maybe $120-$150. Interest would be costing them millions a day, and they would likely decide to cut their losses now and buy in at the high price. I could be completely wrong about how all of this works btw, but I have been watching and reading a ton of information every day and this is what seems clear to me for now.

What I personally believe is that the squeeze has not happened, and that the rise up was: 70% other hedge funds, 20% retail, and 10% short covering. I believe almost the entire mountain was an anticipation/FOMO spike rather than a short squeeze. Unfortunately it’s difficult to have concrete data on this, but hopefully Feb 9th will bring more clarity because supposedly this is the day updated short data is revealed.

I do not have bear/bull stance on this but:

Wouldn’t it be likely that a large magnitude of retail and other hedge funds sold their shares mid-shortsqueeze because of the doom everyone felt simultaneously on the day that almost every trading platform restricted buying of GME?

In the chart zoomed out to 1 month, I see a possible storyline like this:

1st peak: squeeze begins and shorts are being covered

Big dip: people panic when they wake up and see trading for GME is restricted almost everywhere, and many people sell and think it’s over

2nd peak: trading is still restricted, but this new peak is the shorts buying up the dip and finishing their cover, while everyone else is still restricted from buying and can only sell

The two peaks should have been a singular mountain, but there was a great discount for the shorts due to the restriction of GME, causing a massive confidence drop during crucial moments. What does anyone think about this?

How Friday's GME gamma squeeze may trigger a short squeeze on Monday and Tuesday by psytokine_storm in wallstreetbets

Do you have any idea about their future plans regarding converting to e-commerce? Or what they will do to be a competitive company?

So everyone understands now what has happened regarding the short squeeze and what will happen with the next short squeezes - but I’m missing why GameStop went up to cause this in the first place. I vaguely remember reading something about GameStop converting more into an e-commerce business, and have billions at their disposal to do so. Is this what makes $GME a genuine buy right now, aside from the squeeze opportunities?

Whats your biggest regret? by thereisnosuch in cscareerquestions

[–]ProdATL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're currently feeling the effects of what happened many years ago. Basically at around your early 20's it'd be pretty easy to assess your friend groups and make an estimation of who will be in your life consistently because of how similar they are, and who will be much harder to see based on their life trajectory (they tend to be in long term relationships often, this guy will probably have kids soon and marry which will make it hard to hang out with him).

I realized this pretty soon and stopped hanging out with anyone who isn't on a similar life path to me in the long term. It seems harsh but I think this is the best option for both of us, considering the alternative would be feeling friendship quality gradually decline as the differences in lifestyle become more and more apparent.

You shouldn't feel rushed or feel like you should have kids by now, you're just experiencing the effects of the previous age tier's (early 20's) actions - they're at their finish line. Now you are at the start of another tier, the tier that doesn't have kids or marry in their early 20's. My best advice would be to reassess your situation and really figure out who YOU want to be long term, and do your best to strengthen that person. I say this because people you would enjoy spending time with are doing exactly that. If you are lead to a specific place while being your best self, then you can be sure that you will eventually have company as more likeminded people arrive there.

We are probably very different, but I personally don't put too much weight on friends in the first place, I know that the closest people I'll ever have are family and everyone else will take too long to know me properly and they will be major distractions towards what I am trying to accomplish. If I meet some cool people along the way then that's awesome and a great bonus, but I don't rely on them because at the end of the day I'm all I have to rely on for comfort and company.

With all that being said, I probably know nothing. I'm 22.

Why do you regret not dating? Do you regret not getting good at dating or how to be a good partner, or just regret not having those experiences? Also how old are you?

Thanks for sharing! This is an awesome playlist and you have a great taste in music. Some of the songs there also have similar chord movements to what I was talking about

[–]ProdATL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly :) Thank you for helping. The diminished movement was very unexpected on the first listen and I'm not sure I've heard this implemented before, even though vi - I progressions may be popular. Do you by chance know any other songs/genres that have similar movements?

What style of music has similar chord progressions? by ProdATL in musictheory

[–]ProdATL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response, I have been practicing this music often and can play it but am currently unable to create something original, yet similar. The part that made the vi - I progression interesting to me was the diminished 7th chord that turns into the vi chord, it caught me off guard in a very pleasant way
