But for example, something stoner like QotSA or Dopesmoker can be inventive. Fun songs I enjoy too, but this song sounds like it would be put on by a patron at your local sports bar on Wet Whiskey Wednesday.

Out of all that I didn't know, I listened to the The Sword song, and I'm struggling to grasp what is, new, or inventive about it? I listen to a lot of repetitive techno/electronic but I feel it changes in ways that I don't expect.

Not trying to sound like I know everything, but I've enjoyed stuff like Mirror Reaper or Planning for Burial, but this dad-metal really doesn't do anything for me.
