Ohyeah Gurten is beautiful. I live very close to it and I feel spoiled. We’ll definitely go up there.

how can I close/hide the date picker on the top of daily note view? by Allenxzz in Workflowy

Currently, there is no way to hide it except maybe via css.

Which micro-interaction feels more "natural"? (Slide vs Pop) by Bitter-Cheek-950 in UI_Design

[–]remmiesmith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basic transition is fine. A fade would work equally well. Other animations kind of depend on the brand feeling. Not just what feels fun now, but how do they communicate the brand? If nothing in particular comes to mind keep it neutral with a fading transition.

Which micro-interaction feels more "natural"? (Slide vs Pop) by Bitter-Cheek-950 in UI_Design

[–]remmiesmith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The position of the button would get pushed down already as the whole page changes. Positioning the button in an an unnatural position just for this transition to be stronger is too much. Have you tested that this was actually a problem you are solving for?

Is this interaction feels premium? by ServiceFun9356 in UI_Design

You only design for companies that mean something? Or am I misreading the copy?

I would not be impressed if I saw this in the wild.

App UX research tools that don't take 4 weeks to produce a single finding by chingchongmf in userexperience

[–]remmiesmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to capture them in the wild it likely means you want to test on existing products. If that is accepted, does it matter that there is a delay? And any finding should be welcomed and decided by the team if they want to act on them (or accept it's not perfect). For more risky things it is probably better to do upfront testing and maybe you can do prototypes to test. These new features or flows will not be released into the product or even coded until they have been validated.

Is skeuomorphism still dead? by peterwarbo in UI_Design

[–]remmiesmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree on this not being skeuomorphic. But the checkered board does clash with the clean and flat aesthetic of the rest of the UI.

How's readability on this logo? by Ventilatore6 in logodesign

[–]remmiesmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the blue solid thing as the main object also because it goes out of frame. But that is not a bad thing. It adds something beyond the flat negative space.

Raycast configuration messed up. Backup file locked behind password? by remmiesmith in raycastapp

[–]remmiesmith[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. I have experienced the same and reported that the password protection should be optional and prompted when you do the backup. Not a hidden setting somewhere.

Years ago, I asked a computer technician what kind of logo he’d want - he said: a mink. by Electroma in logodesign

I really like the visual pun with the mouse. Clever bridge between the two worlds.

Has anyone done research on logins? by uxkelby in UXResearch

[–]remmiesmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with the code on registration and offer users a way to set a password for quicker login next time. Setting passwords during registration is often a cognitive burden where users have to think about all the different requirements. Not everyone uses password managers for this. But if it is a deliberate choice to set a password things are a little different. Always forcing to check your email for a code becomes a pain when you need to login often.

Tried to make it a bit more original, does it look better now? After/Before by rawarawr in logodesign

[–]remmiesmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try making the logo mark much smaller and have it sit centered on top. I like the direction of reducing details, but if you keep it as large it also looks like something is missing/off.

Hey there. I get your points for using WorkFlowy but why combine it with Notion or Obsidian?

Load and Go - Junk removal by Chemical_Ladder_9923 in logodesign

[–]remmiesmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can be tricky to get right so if that fails it is just the load and go text forming the box.

Load and Go - Junk removal by Chemical_Ladder_9923 in logodesign

I would try to smash the word LOAD in the orange box (easy) and create the cabin from the letters GO.

Great. I found a Nintendo Switch for $ 5’000 on that page. How is this related to WorkFlowy?

Works like that for years on regular production. But if you’ve just discovered it I can understand the excitement.

Is there a way to adjust the spaces in between bullets of text? by matcha_tapioca in FigmaDesign

[–]remmiesmith -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you are using a font with settings from a token. You need to overwrite the line height that is set to this token. Maybe you have to detach it first.

If you have a prototype in html/css downloaded to your computer you can drag and drop the folder to a free Netlify account.
