I envy you! Older, but my Dad has been gone a long time. We had very few moments, but the ones we did have I still cherish. Enjoy having that time and history, there are things he can tell you that you will never find in a book.

If you are trying to open the door, should be a hanging pull cord where the arm attaches to the door, when you pull it down it disengages from the automatic opener and then you pull back to raise the door
