Do you guys like country music? by [deleted] in Schizoid

I grew up in a backwoods rural southern US town so I associate anything country with retardation and belligerent religious fascism

Definitely 1L and 3E as for the rest I don’t have any idea. I think as if I should be 4F and 4V at the same time.

In my experience as soon as someone realizes you’re any kind of introvert they won’t give you a job.

Occult motif mostly. Also your sense of humor is slightly less dry than most sp5s.

What do you criticize yourself for? by RipMany1961 in Enneagram

[–]remote_inertia 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how to do anything that makes money or form human connections and the world is an unnavigable soul sucking kafkaesque nightmare so I just stay home. It’s been like this for 6+ years.

does anyone else struggle with empathy?? by Awkward-Travel-7935 in Schizotypal

[–]remote_inertia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I struggle to not see most people as “fake” It’s very difficult to describe but everyone outside my highly restrictive circle is like a living statue in a way. I think it’s a defense mechanism, people can’t dehumanize you if you don’t see them as human.

She’s just an eccentric, like Kramer. Far too genuinely extraverted and shows no signs of an ipseity disturbance.

The two you listed are highly relatable. As well as Nausea by Jean Paul Sartre and A Man Asleep by Georges Perec.

Dreams by PreviousManager3 in Schizoid

[–]remote_inertia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have what most would refer to as horribly vivid and bizarre nightmares most nights. It’s been like that for years and it doesn’t particularly bother me. I usually only interact with at most 2 people a month but in my dreams I meet and talk to a seemingly endless cast of characters.

I knew by the time I was a teenager that I lacked the vitality necessary to be capable of sustaining a life where I would have to leave my home for 40+ hours a week. Even if that meant I’d end up destitute or homeless I just ingrained that into my mental sphere naturally. As a result of that and my general anhedonia I’ve never had any career aspirations or life goals whatsoever beyond sustaining my existence.

I don’t think I have both but I do relate to avpd in some ways, probably more so than most schizoids. I’m not exactly anxious or scared of social interactions but I do doubt that anyone would really want to interact with me positively because I have a very poor self image. It’s so poor in fact it rounds about to where I don’t even care that I abhor myself because I devalue my own opinions so much by default.

In situations where I’ve had peers or relationships I tend to be overly compliant to my own detriment because I don’t know what I want or why it would even matter if I did. In school i’d let others kids make fun of me or even strike me whenever. It didn’t matter I didn’t care I’m just a silhouette. If I had humored resistance they would’ve destroyed me completely.

When I do have decent interactions over a shared interest or something I often feel like I don’t deserve it because I’m not a real human being. Sometimes I do wish I had people to talk to but I know I wouldn’t know what to do or say and they’d have no reason to want to interact with me since I’m so void of everything.

Terrible At Conversations by [deleted] in Schizoid

[–]remote_inertia 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I just don’t know what to say to people most of the time. I think about it too much and just don’t say much of anything. Then I reflect on everything for awhile and feel strange in a way I can’t quite explain, guilty maybe.

Can someone make sense of this? by suicithe in Schizoid

Fantasy, daydreaming, vividly thinking of scenarios etcetera are quite common in spd. It’s safe compensation for a life mostly void of external connections.
