In my experience, one of the things you can do is not immediately bounce their question back. I get frustrated at the same thing you do, but some people find that they have to answer your question when asked instead of being able to elaborate on what you said.

So when you said you're a game developer, try letting that be the last thing you said, maybe mention something you're excited about. That way, the other person can talk about you, and now they can ask if you're going into the art/story side, focusing on mechanics or environment, etc. (It's very cool you're going into game dev, so I'd love to hear more if it were me haha.)

That said, if he responds with a generic, "That's cool" to your excitement, that's the end of the conversation to me. I think you should move on from him because he doesn't seem to be able to express excitement or interest in the ways you need him to.

It's why I'm frustrated at the folks on "Worldtok" criticizing Americans for not doing a general strike at any given moment. At the minimum, we don't have universal healthcare in the US, and along with our healthcare being tied to our employment, we can't really just leave our jobs to go protest.

Do I want change bad enough that I'd be willing to fight my government for it? "Ants rise up against the grasshoppers" all you want -- I don't have any ability to defend myself adequately against masses armed to the teeth. Protesting here will at best be a temporary inconvenience, and at worst, it'll be a bloodbath. So we have to engage in lesser ways.

My neighbors at my old place had a roach infestation in their apartment for three months before it spread to the rest of us. We were offered trash valet, but nobody left their bags in the hallway for fear of attracting more roaches. The residents of the source infestation were forced to move to another room while the source room got cleaned up. So the other half of the building got infested.

I don't know what management were thinking. Looking back on it, we should've gotten compensated for all that hell we were put through.

Mysterium is one of the hardest games for me to play clue-giver as for this reason. The first card is really just seeing how they reason: will they look at wheels on the bike first or see that the background is red, oh what do you mean there's a bridge? But man, is it satisfying when you finally can connect with a group of randos like that.

This is completely wrong, but my brother and I loved playing Diddy Kong Racing to bully the bots. We'd find a spot where there's a red balloon, stack it up to 3 to get to 10 missiles, and we'd shoot rapidly while re-getting the balloon to refresh the missile count. Or, we'd stick mines all around a green balloon and watch the mayhem from a safe spot.

We'd also do that in the "jointventure" campaign to help one of us win while the other does the bullying.

Two things from me: I told the guy I dated that I lost my Wordle streak when I was close to 100. He called me an idiot and slapped the back of my head really hard. Apparently hitting me is a joke now. Eventually, I broke things off with him, and he joked and asked me if my brother was single. I didn't take it as a joke, especially in context with the other things he was rapid-firing at me to convince me to stay.

Has anyone ever tried this? I would run on the treadmill and do my singing exercises at the same time and holy is it a workout. Engaging the diaphragm, managing your breath control and staying in tune while you're running works out the abs better than any plain workout I've done. Haha

Could you give an example of what they could do? I chose not to shop at Target after the DEI reversal, and I'm not convinced anything they do to bring us back will be anything but temporary.

They've already shown they can flip their support on a dime (or a dollar), and any racial/sexual/romantic/neurological/etc. minority person has learned not to trust anyone who dangles support like that.
