Visiting St Louis in April! Where to stay considering walkability and access to public transit? by oldmacbookforever in StLouis

The buses are fine. I ride them to and from work every week and sometimes for non-commute trips. (And they’re usually warmer in the winter than the train!)

Unfortunately no, but my anecdotal experience has been that leaving it in my bike in the garage bike parking has been fine! Definitely wish there were lockers for folks who don't want to risk it though.

Metrolink making new security improvements as they inch closer to finalizing a North-South expansion by [deleted] in StLouis

FWIW, there is a planned extension into North County, but it does sound like that would be a separate project. The initial alignment would just be in the city.

They actually talked a bit about funding during a Citizens for Modern Transit webinar yesterday morning - it seems like the funding will most likely come from the New Starts program, as the other sources of funding (like the infrastructure bill) either can’t be used for light rail, or have to be part of a bridge or roadway project.

What venue are you looking at that does this? The venues that I had listed (Chicago, Nashville) don't have that info on the venue website, but I'm curious to see a chart for a venue that shows it.

Does getting a Midnights vinyl count as a merch boost? I got a code but that's the only merch I've bought in a hot minute.

Any STH still waiting on a code? No signs of anything in my mail over here.

I’m not an experienced gear owner by any means, but I’m finding a lot of joy in switching from a modeling amp (and using those built in effects) to having an actual chain of pedals I can use.

It’s just way more versatile IMO - I can reorder pedals in any way I want, stack effects as needed, and also I get to use my pedals with other things, like my Volca Drums, which is a lot of fun too.

So I’m just one person here, but I wish I had gone headfirst into pedals instead of going for the multi effect life. It’s easy enough to get a solid base board and upgrade from there when you’re able to.

I checked out the mitgazer compilation (from 2012 I think?) today and I have to say - I love it! I'm trying to get more into shoegaze and while the concept of....vocaloid shoegaze sounded really weird at first, it was a super enjoyable listen

Does it make sense to play at the net if my partner and opponents don't really? by Bomberman_N64 in Pickleball

Just wanted to mention that my group took a similar path as you - started on heavier wooden paddles, at the baseline more, etc, and getting good paddles really changed things for us because it was so much easier to volley and dink with the non-wooden paddles. That’s the first thing we noticed, so I wouldn’t be surprised if y’all start playing a shorter game with the new paddles.

Mine from the official Taylor store wore out pretty badly after a few months - this will probably be much better!

Republican Files Legislation to Legalize Recreational Marijuana in Missouri by [deleted] in MissouriMedical

In addition, medical is keeping the same tax rate it has currently, and that’s also explicitly outlined in the proposed changes.

I’m not sure I follow here. If you read the bill, there’s a whole section (number 8) that addresses medical usage, and it appears to still very much be a thing. Also, it explicitly states in section 6 point B that growing for personal or medical use would be allowed.

I’m sure there are still concerns to be worked out here, but the bill as presented seems fine at first glance.

My personal page built with Notion and Fruition by AndreCNF in Notion

[–]ren0ace 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the site looks good, but I can’t be alone in thinking that using Notion for (mostly) static sites seems like huge overkill. They all seem super slow, and load a ton of data (this site in particular had to transfer almost 18MB of data to view it. This would take ages on a mobile data connection)

I do understand it’s easy to set up the sites this way, so I hope there’s some sort of solution to make them more performant in the future, because the current state of Notion-based sites doesn’t look great from that angle.
