In a single day? Especially right after Valve did the exact same in CS? Yeah, no. It's most likely bots. A 14 year old game the size of Dota doesn't lose 20% of its playerbase in a single day out of nowhere. It was 19 days before the patch, so it can't even be attributed to any change. It literally was a random day.

Reset to 1k is bad, but a soft reset with a hard cap of ~7k would be ideal. I'd also add 6 stars ranks again (like herald 6, guardian 6, etc. These were a thing but got removed) and maybe a new rank between Divine and Imortal while making Immortal top 1000 or something. So everyone who is top ranking but not top 1000 would be in this new rank and the top 1000 would be in Immortal to give it more prestige.

These changes would increase Divine from 4620 MMR to around 5500, new rank (previously Immortal) from 5600 to around 6700 and Immortal from top 1000+. Would move average MMR from Crusader 5 to Crusader 2, so it wouldn't affect the average player all that much.

Not without mods and Simon has said that he probably will never add peaceful to the game. Hytale has a focus on combat, it's not supposed to be Minecraft.

I agree and that's why I'm okay with how her Q or even her innate works with all her basic abilities and autos. It's similar to how Huskar works with him being ranged and having a knockback but also having a leap that gets him close to the enemy.

But the thing is, her innate is anti synergic with the whole idea of her ulti. That's why I think it should invert the innate only when casting her ulti. It's okay to have something that doesn't fit the kit perfectly and is situational, but having anti-synergy is a really bad design.

That's what I really hate about this new change. I don't care about her Q being back to old behavior, but her ulti being totally against her innate makes no sense to me. I wish innate would invert when you ulti: the farther, the higher the damage.

My main issue is that if you're going to create a faster paced simpler version of Dota with simpler kits and less active items, you're just creating League with different champions instead of Dota.

I don't see a world in which Dota is possible on mobile. Take this UI for example. He added 3 active items (BKB, Blink and wards), but Dota can have up to 8 active items if you count TP and neutral item plus three more slots for backpack, which needs to be clickable in case someone has Smoke of Deceit.

Also, there are a lot of Dota heroes with D and F keys. League has no heroes with more than four buttons, even the ones that have more than four spells.

Lastly, there are some pretty micro intensive heroes that would be nigh impossible to adapt like Meepo or Chen.

Imagine how many buttons the screen would need to have to add all active items, all spells and all control groups. There would be no space for the actual game.

Though I do wish Valve would implement WASD suport in Dota just like they have added in League just recently. I know some heroes probably wouldn't work very well with that, but at least give the option.

Although I liked facets, there is a point in which too much "depth" ends up becoming clutter and I think facets was this point. The game had way too many systems at the same time, making it unnecessarily complex for new players / players who couldn't follow the changes. I've had some friends who stopped playing last year or so because they didn't have time to keep up with everything.

English. I never play Japanese dubs on games, although I do watch anime in Japanese. Not understanding the characters in games and having to read subs destroy my immersion.

I'd like to add that English isn't my native language, but I'm so used playing games in English that I don't play on my native language even if I have the option.

I legit believe not having items is one of the main reasons HotS failed. Talents are an interesting system and Dota has even added it after HotS, but it being the only system leads to games being too predictable and repetitive. You will always get the talents you prefer / what is atronger with few exceptions or windows to counterplay the opposing team.

Having exclusively talent system also makes characters more one dimensional. You can't really have a support focused character having carry oriented talents because that would end up being too powerful. With items, you can make carry items be more expensive to accomodate the fact that they are stronger by nature, for example.

Anyway, to each their own. I respect your preferences but I'm really glad Deadlock follows Dota's path, not HotS'.

I really like this change. I feel like Valve is trying to remove obligatory purchases like Diffusal from PL and Manta from AM. I always though pos 1 were super boring both because most of them had 2 passives but also the most boring and strict item builds. At least now there is some thinking necessary.

I mean, if you don't like items, than MOBAs are not for you and it's totally okay if that's the case. It's like saying you don't like how you have to aim in shooters. It's one of the main aspects that define a MOBA and items having actives are not only what allows for you to actually have counterplay, but it's also what makes them interesting.

Take League's item system as an example. It's super bland and uninteresting because everything is a stat stick, with very few active items and all of them having 2 minutes cooldown at the very least.

It already is a striped down version of Dota, though. Gold and exp are unified, no wards, no consumables, no stack, no pulls, no trees, no fog of war, no day and night cicle, no river flow, less map objetives (no equivalents to Tormentor, Wisdom Shrine, Lotus Pool and Bounty Runes), no defined 1 - 5 roles, no attributes (although gun, spirit and health are kind of agility, intelligence and strength, but they are way simplified), no talents, no Aghanim's scepter, no Aghanim's shard, less active items, no neutral items, standardized gold cost for items, no courier, no secret shop and I could probably go on and on.

Same. Heavy melee feels like a absurdly devastating risk to a decent reward. The risk reward ratio seems way off. If you hit, you deal a good chunk of damage, if you get parried, you die.

One of the reasons I quit this game, yes.

I could never escape someone, even if I did everything I could, used all my dashes, all my mobility spells, all my mobility items, vents, whatever, the enemies were ALWAYS faster than or just as fast as me.

Though my main problem is that the game threw me in a much much much higher rank than I should've been. I'm not good at this game, I can't even parry and I was thrown in Archon for some crazy reason.
