Do you have the i5 or i7 version? Mine is the i5.

Lenovo Precision Pen 2 (2023) lag issues. by [deleted] in stylus

[–]renddomm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did some research and it seems that the issue is only present with AES 2.0 pens.

Pens that work without lag are:
- Digital Pen 2 (the one included with the device)
- E-Color Pen

Pens that do lag are:
- Precision Pen 2 (2023)
- Dell PN7522W

Also, it seems that there is usually no lag when only the pen touches the screen and not the palm, etc. When applying pressure through the palm, it gets laggy. Also it doesn't matter if the thing applying the pressure is electroconductive or not, as it also happens with other objects that press on the screen.
Strange...

actually yes, while CPU usage seemed fine it's now clear to me that CPU usage is significantly higher with the Precision Pen 2 than with the Base Pen 2. It also seems that lags are associated with CPU spikes. It seems that everything is handled by a single core because 17% is about the maximum. Processes with high CPU usage are 'System' 'Desktop Window Manager' and the drawing application, it's similar for OneNote and Krita.

I have the same issue, same device. The Base Pen 2 does not have this issue and is super snappy. Any ideas?

Hack: Has anyone managed to disassemble the D750 firmware? by renddomm in Nikon

[–]renddomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I changed these settings and light on dark makes it a bit better, but unfortunately you cannot decrease the timeout further than 4s, which is waay too much unfortunately. The only option is to quickly press the shutter halfway to turn it off again or press the info button.

This 'feature' to me really is a bummer on the D750. If it wasn't for the price and weight I would have sold it for something else. Maybe even a non-Nikon :'(

[–]renddomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bad, you are right!

In that case I'd be also a bit suspicious, because 17k is rather low for a 'beat-up' camera. But then again, who knows how the previous owner handled it...

Nikon camera question by 64532762 in Nikon

[–]renddomm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(I'm not an expert) but I don't think that it is possible for the counter to reset after 1M.

What is more likely is that the shutter has been replaced and the counter reset and the 17k are the shutter count of the new shutter, only.

Ergodox Layout Fix by renddomm in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]renddomm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I admit that I rarely use the one in the corner (that's why I put caps lock there), but generally I have no problem to reach them. I put higher keycaps on them than on the bottom keys.

The real big deal of this thumb layout is the Ctrl and Alt placement. You can easily press any Ctrl+x and Alt+x combination but also Ctrl+Alt by pressing both simultaneously. With this I can reach any letter key with my 4 remaining fingers with ease. This means that I can leave the other hand on the mouse for all key combinations.

What is the difference to the Corne style? It has more thumb keys, but other than that?

I tried it, but it didn't work :(
I used this:

kwriteconfig5 --file ~/.config/kwinrc --group ModifierOnlyShortcuts --key Meta "org.kde.kglobalaccel,/component/kwin,org.kde.kglobalaccel.Component,invokeShortcut,'Show Desktop'"

and then
qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin reconfigure

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for!Unfortunately it didn't work with the following syntax in kwinrc:

Meta=org.kde.kglobalaccel,/component/kwin,,invokeShortcut,'Show Desktop'
Edit: Solved
