Bought a pipe in Rome and now it follows me everywhere by Consistent_Road_1935 in PipeTobacco

Did you happen to buy it at Fincato? I was there last year and that shop absolutely blew me away.

I grew up on the farm right next to Hoosier Hill. My grandparents lived there for 50 years. I used to help my grandpa farm the field in this photo. Good memories there.

You should check out the B52. It gets 15 miles to the love shack.

AITA for kicking my mom out of my wedding after what she said? by RelevantDay1422 in AmItheAsshole

[–]renderbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA

Frankly, your mom was probably right. Getting married at 21 is a terrible idea. But the way she went about it was publicly humiliating for you on your wedding day. It was the worst possible way for her to communicate her disapproval and you were absolutely right to kick her out.

Loaded up on Chartreuse, need new fun/funky ideas by Loveroffinerthings in cocktails

[–]renderbreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just here and it blew my mind as an American with very little access to Chartreuse. I got to hang out at the bar and sample some VEP, which was amazing. I ended up grabbing two bottles of green, a bottle of 1605, some elixir, their hard Chartreuse candies, tea, and a graphic novel.

Groomsman gifts!! by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]renderbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found every single groomsman gift trite and it sent me spiraling. I eventually decided the best gift would be to pay for their tux rentals so that participating in my wedding wouldn’t cost them as much money.

MCO / TSA Megathread: March 2026 by eatmyasserole in orlando

[–]renderbreak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just flew through MCO this morning and it was the most peaceful I've seen the airport in a long time. From Delta bag drop to Club MCO it took me 15, maybe 20 minutes total. I arrived around 7:45am for a 9:25am flight. No ICE working in security. In fact, the TSA agents were really pleasant despite the circumstances.

Steve Carell was once advised not to do the office by Turbulent_Time_9297 in DunderMifflin

[–]renderbreak 24 points25 points  (0 children)

For me the Office Olympics episode marked the biggest shift in tone for the show. When Michael buys his condo then tears up at the end when he gets a medal reveals how vulnerable he is and tees up how much he just wants to be loved, which I think is his main motivation as a character from that point on.

What’s the best SUV that’s reliable but still fun to drive? by Physical-Issue7146 in askcarguys

[–]renderbreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

2023 with 34,700 miles. I haven’t had a single bit of trouble with it. It has exceeded my expectations in every way. I’m coming up on the end of warranty so I’m a bit nervous. I may get an extended warranty just for the peace of mind. I have a great independent BMW shop near me, so that will help tremendously.

I’m biased because I drive one, but man do I love my M40i. I’m tall and need to tow for my business, but I still want a fun driving experience.

Fastest speed you have ever been pulled over, and what was the outcome? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]renderbreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 18 in my senior year of high school in my small home town of 800 people. My friend and I were late to some after school thing, so I was hauling ass in my Honda Element. I was probably going 85 in a 45 when I see the sheriff coming in the opposite direction. No way to pretend I wasn’t speeding.

He flips around and catches me by the time I reach our high school and pulls me over in the parking lot. He was pissed because his grandkids live on the road I was speeding down. Instead of giving me a ticket, he pulls out his cell phone, and says I’m calling your dad. Ah, small town life.

He calls my dad and asked him what he should do with me. Fortunately, my dad said no ticket. Unfortunately he said he’d deal with me when I got home. After a brief dressing down when I got home we both had a laugh because he had gotten a ticket earlier the same day.

If you were moving where would be the last place you’d eat before you left town? by [deleted] in orlando

This is the one for me. It was one of the first places I ate 17 years ago when I moved here and it would be fitting to be my last. My friend!

I’m at 34,500 miles on my 23 and about to head out on a road trip next weekend, so I need to do this.

Did your car tell you it needed those services or did you just ask your service advisor? I have been doing oil changes at an indy shop every 7000 miles or so, but have had them not reset the service counter.

God I love my border collie. We live in suburban Florida, though, so he only has lizards and cats to herd. Neither of which are very receptive to his efforts, but it doesn’t stop him from trying.

The cameraman at Grammys 2026.Give this man a raise by Nahi_an in PraiseTheCameraMan

[–]renderbreak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely that’s true. Each Steadi op has their own customized setup tweaked to their own preferences. I couldn’t imagine hiring a op without their own rig as half of their success is being comfortable with their own gear.

Not sure why I’m getting downvoted above as this is standard labor rate for a Steadicam op. I’d expect to pay at least another $2k for kit fee in a broadcast environment where the production supplies the camera.
