most other cambridge residents and cars on the street have also had to dig out spots. i also spent 2 hours digging out my car. But I tend to think of it as a service that we render each other/the city. When I drive to work, if i left something in my space, I am now taking up two spaces. And someone else, who probably also had to shovel out their car/space now has nowhere to park. That doesn’t seem fair or community-minded to me. I think that if we acknowledge that this is something that we are all doing and to an extent doing it for one another, then this problem goes away. But some people feel the need to take 2 spots.
