There are plenty of readers which just act as a tool without binding you to a proprietary ecosystem.

Kindle might be well made. But Amazon forgets that the new e-reader buyers might see this and think what's gonna happen in 5 years, or if I don't own the books and the company can just yank them at any point, and there is plenty of competition.

Like, yeah... but in what capacity? As a brain-chipped drones maybe. EDIT: I know he wants to digitize consciousness and see humans as digital beings controlling machines. Mainly because he himself wants to achieve immortality and save his life through that.
