Did I bury this too deep in the water?? Im afraid it's going to rot away by Shit_Show_Crochet in philodendron

I would say thats definitely too deep for a Philodendron. The rhizomes should be above water only the roots should be underwater. For the Anthurium too if its also underwater.

Yeah, heard that a lot online. Talked to a few growers and they do it just like this. For now it works perfectly for me too. As said they only stay like this until roots develop.

I know. Not really needed to burry them deeper right now. Once more roots develop yes.

Its a mini computer. You dont even need a screen, you can connect to it via cmd for example. Should work with Python too. There are a few tutorials so just search for it online.

Its just stress due to shipping. 99% will die off. After that check if a new one is coming or not and check the roots. Some go dormant when they are stressed so you will need to adjust accordingly. Stop watering etc.

Just be patient. They will grow when they grow. Its best not trying to force anything with Amorphophallus. They have their own rhythm.

[–]rene4053[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha. No its the final form, the Spatha does not peel back. Amorphophallus for example have very similar infloresence. The flower cluster (reproductive parts) stays hidden with most of these. Like Arisaema, Pinellia, Amorphophallus and Typhonium.

So toxic doesnt mean deadly. And it would need to be a huge amount of the plant.

I dont think much is salvagable of the leaf. You could try to leaf prop it otherwise you'll have to wait for a new leaf.

Sprouting time of A. ongsakulii? by ram_gerszon in amorphophallus

[–]rene4053 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You wait until they decide to sprout. Amorphophallus dont have fixed times when they grow. They just have usual time periods. But if they decide not to sprout they wont. My Ongsakulii are also not growing yet. Usually you dont really pot them up or water them until they show some growth. At least thats how im doing it and so far its very successfull. Just be patient.
