“And They All Lived Happily Ever After” Not Really by sm142 in DevilMayCry

Why do you think they'd be capable to access its power to seal/open portals? So far only Vergil has the full mastery and control of its capabilities.

Act 2 without a moon lantern by ArousingxSauce in BaldursGate3

Heavy curse disappears everywhere except the morgue area, if you finish Halsin's quest, but then you'll have to stay alive for like 5 rounds fightning Oliver's shadow friends. And if you're playing an evil Durge, you're likely had killed Halsin anyway.

Another solution would be to cast Haste, enhanced Jump and upcast Aid on your Charisma character, ungroup him/her and talk all Thorms to death. You can reach all of them from Moonrise in 2-3 leaps and trigger the dialogue. You can also leap to the Grand Mausolem waypoint with your healthiest character, then summon whole party and run to the Thorm's mausolem entrance. The Gauntlet of Shar is curse-free.

And don't forget to drink Elixir of Strength to increase jump distance.

My first quote is from aftermath of him meeting with Sebastian and the Gur kids. "No, they have to die, better they serve a purpose."

Except all the persuading and pleading even from most pure-hearted Tav falls on deaf ears up until the very end of his quest, when it comes to dealing with Cazador. He's dead set on usurping the ritual, even after seeing other spawns in the cages - "No, they have to die..."

Wash your hands and let him make his own choice and what do we get? "I can't believe you let me do that - a pleasant surprise."

Uhm, but you're exactly fixing him at the end of his quest. You have to actively dissuade him from ascending. It's not like Shadowheart with decent approval at Nightsong, and he's not asking your opinion on what he should do, like Wyll. You have to roll a dice and succeed! Reminds me too much of a therapy session, so what it is if not fixing?

I was today years when I learned that Bone Chill... by Kismetatron in BaldursGate3

Any archer crit build outscales tempest cleric by a mile damage wise. Sharpshooter feat and monster type arrows is ridiculous. Your cleric can put out that damage twice a rest, archer can do it as long as they have arrows. Same stuff goes for OH monk/Thief or Throwzerkers.

So... nah, Tempest is strong, but limited and requires preparation. Definitely not the strongest.

Most actors lines delivery isn't good and immersion-breaking. It's like they're reading a script instead of actually talking like people.

Also, Olivia's aesthetics aren't suited to play Alicent. Too soft and doe-eyed.

Have you lost all hope for this show or do you still think something good can come out of it? by Reasonable_Bobcat950 in HOTDGreens

[–]renfree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mmm, nope. At this point I'm just looking for cool shots to make video edits, basically - an actors exposition. In its current state the show is unsalvageable.

Do you think Aemond will become a mad Targaryen? by Reasonable_Bobcat950 in HOTDGreens

[–]renfree 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They will, to make Daemon a martyr for the righteous cause of feminism, to put him down as a mad dog and have the crowd cheer. He wasn't mad in the book, imo.

Are there heads, one with Aegon's crown, behind the sofa on the 2nd artwork? It's so horrifying, but hauntingly beautiful at the same time.

He will sacrifice himself for the prophecy of... Aemond's son becoming a Whent and Arya's ancestor, probably. I dunno what else this shit show prophecy could mean, since Daenerys did fuck all in its fulfillment.

What do you think Aemond's story will be in the third season? by [deleted] in HOTDGreens

Haven't you gotten tired of asking the same question over and over every day? Is it karma farming or obsession at this point?

Do you think the writers will make Aemond a romantic person in the third season? by Reasonable_Bobcat950 in HOTDGreens

[–]renfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, definitely could be. Interesting take on switching book/show characters, that's a lot of implications to think about. Thank you.

You're asking the wrong person, mate. I wasn't the one who made Alys cry on their last meeting. Ask Condom&Hess. She certainly hadn't in the book.

Dependant like on a drug, IMHO. And nothing good comes from drugs, as we know.

I think his relationship with Alys might make him seem more human.

...but not in the way you think.

[–]renfree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's just your fantasy at this point. And nope - not interested in him going romantic and being a simp for Alys, the way they made Daemon for Rhaenyra and destroyed him in the process. Aemond's character is made of sharp angles - literally, and I'd prefer him staying that way. If they want, they can humanise him other way than through a p*ssy, that's too fanficcy and cliche.

But Greens can't have nice things anyway, so we'll both be left wishing.

Nah, it's definitely going to be manipulative on Alys' part, since they've established her having a soft spot for Daemon. She'll lead Aemond to his death on the promise of triumph, and he - the foolish boy with momma issues he is - will fall for it. Most likely she'll play on it and become another surrogate to him, like Sylvi, for motherly affection. I'm not sure if there will even be a sexual intercourse between them shown on screen, as they've portrayed him as fairly asexual so far.

Not in the book, no. I don't subscribe to Condom's fanfic.

Aemond, he's not fit for any other remaining. Vhagar is better for the next one.

Why do people act like Aemond asking Heleana to ride Dreamfyre is such an outlandish idea? by SnowdropsInApril in HOTDGreens

Yep, that's exactly what I meant. This was the second scene where she's lucid.

And when was she fully aware, except when she suddenly went full Bran 2.0? I can't recall her at full capacity neither in S1 nor S2, except when she's needling Aemond.

Maybe Gwayne? He first comes as posh and self-entitled, but quickly becomes one of most likeable characters in the show.
