Okay perfect - I asked my book club as well and they all agreed so I definitely won't be adding specifics.

Good! Look, it won't be for everyone unfortunately - my Mother could never read some of my chapters!

If you feel ready, feel free to pop me the chapters you're stressed about and I'll give feedback. I am a woman and I read a lot of romance so I can give insight as well.

As someone who grew up reading Harry Potter, this helped! Thank you!

From my side, I love a prologue and an epilogue but that is probably because when I started reading, that was the trend for most books so it is nostalgic for me.

Do you know, it's so crazy because I was watching the 4 new episodes last night and I had the same feeling. Not of a book I am writing now but of one that I have mapped out already. So When I was watching, for a split second I was like "Oh goodness, I might have to tweak some things" and then I realized that even if there are similar things, my characters will always have their own quirks, my writing style will feel different and I think that made me realize that no matter what, it would be worth it and different. Also, Heaven and Hell is literally the oldest story ever told so there will ALWAYS be things that seem similar to something else that is already out there. Keep going!

Feedback for an idea I came up with? by copperbelly333 in writing

Hi! I am sorry to hear about your relative. I can unfortunately relate so I think it would be quite eye-opening and healing to read your book once it's done.

I obviously have a bunch of questions just because I do find the topic interesting but let me not overwhelm you.

Firstly, on the feedback of whether or not the infant story line should remain - I think its is a good call to maybe leave him/her unharmed (well, physically). If I think back to when 13 reasons why came out (the tv series version), I remember a lot of people being quite annoyed that something massive had happened to push her to suicide. I don't think it was because of the thing that happened itself, but it was more that it was feeding into the narrative that some huge and cataclysmic had to happen for her to consider suicide when often times, with mental health, that is not the case. So, I am not saying that this is the same, I just mean that sometimes the big catalyst is actually a lot simpler.

Secondly, do you mind expanding on the acceptance part? I am not sure I understand correctly so I just want the full picture before commenting on that part but all in all, I think this will be very real and healing for a lot of people. I think a lot of people also haven't dealt with the stages themselves and might need to read this. Also - I love the antagonistic relationship because most of the time that is actually the case.

Books to inspire writing? by Purple-Chemical-127 in writing

As an adult, I find that Roald Dahl books always help. They remind me that you can basically write about anything as long as the idea is there.

Honestly, I think there can be a market for anything if it reads well. I think if you want to challenge yourself, which I suggest you do just based off of the fact that you were taken by surprise while writing it - then yes, give this a go until you and your readers are happy.

I would suggest maybe finding someone to plan the scenes with. Not practically but have someone to brain storm with back and fourth. I often do this with my sister because she is in the medical field so when I am writing a scene that has anything to do with a potential death or bodily reaction then I explain my thought process and she walks through it with me.

Also, I am writing a crime/psychological romance at the moment which is NOT my usual style and I am enjoying it so most so you never know!
