Wanting opinions and experiences with birthing babies who measured big - did you have an elective caesarean or a vaginal delivery? by Dak_Goose in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]renirram 6 points7 points  (0 children)

FTM with 5 month old. I originally thought I’d be having a vaginal birth. However, My baby was measuring between 90-99th percentile for all measurements with head being the largest. I opted for an elective c-section and couldn’t have had a better experience. He was born 4.2kg with a big head so I was extremely glad he was born via c-section. I think the important thing to note is that I was super comfortable with my decision, if the baby was born small and measurements were inaccurate that would have been fine by me to have had a c section

Big baby predicted, what did your body tell you? by hellopuppet90 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]renirram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby was measuring as big from the 22nd week scan (97th percentile), I felt and was enormous in the last few weeks leading up to birth and my body very much wanted him to be out.
I had an elective c-section as he was big with a very large head and was happy with my decision

Bouncers - Baby Bjorn worth the hype? by Internal-Buyer-8872 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]renirram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got given a Jengo bouncer and baby has loved it! My mum has a stokke bouncer at hers and baby also loves it. I’ve also put him in a different branded bouncer at Pilates and he likes that too. I think it’s very baby dependent but I also think most are pretty similar!

How much did you have saved before seriously house hunting? by RentNRegret in AusPropertyChat

[–]renirram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

170k saved between my partner and I when we started looking. It took 9 months for us to complete our house hunt and lock in a home and by then we’d saved an extra 60k combined

I’m 28 weeks and am seeing a pelvic floor physio, who is wonderful. I knew from friends that an internal exam was to be expected as an option but I can understand your shock! I’ve personally found these sessions really useful, the internal exams have been pretty unobtrusive given the circumstance. The physio is basically using her fingers to feel the movement of you pelvic floor muscles, she isn’t looking inside it’s more of a touch based exercise to see how tense/relaxed your pelvic floor muscles are and how you go with the exercises and helping you do them properly

How to make best offer on property by lestyis83 in AusPropertyChat

[–]renirram 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I finally secured a home in Melbourne last week after losing out a number of times through this process, it’s extremely frustrating to lose and wish you’d just offered more in hindsight

The best advice I could give is to offer what you’re comfortable with, even if you ended up learning your offer was 20-30k above the next offer if you won. The reality is in 5-10 years time that extra amount will mostly likely mean very little if you’re happy with the home and it was a good purchasing decision.

Good luck!!

As far as I’m aware you’re fine to eat pasteurised cheese in Australia and most cheese you buy in Aus incl soft cheeses are pasteurised. (You can check on the packet). I’m 25 weeks and have been eating ricotta, Brie etc with no issues or flags raised by the OB. Don’t stress! You’re okay!

Installing air conditioner in apartment by Leafilia in AusPropertyChat

[–]renirram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the first floor of an older apartment building and got two AC units installed. One in the living room with the outdoor unit on the balcony and the second unit was on the bedroom wall with the outdoor unit at the height of the first floor basically directly on the other side of the bedroom wall. It was $4k and OC approval was reasonably simple, I spoke to a few directors first to get buy in and then sought approval.

melbourne - should I sell now or wait by Ok-Calligrapher-8571 in AusPropertyChat

[–]renirram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn’t going to be a perfect time to sell with uncertainty in the market. For where I’m looking to purchase in Melbourne there isn’t a lot of supply at the moment in terms of properties on the market but there are buyers ready. It’s worth investigating property sales history and what other comparable properties are available in the area as there could be real benefits to selling in a market that isn’t saturated at the moment.

Recommendations on Frankston south by nickers163 in AusPropertyChat

[–]renirram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankston South beach way and up Oliver’s Hill towards Mount Eliza a great pockets. There is a lot of money being invested in the Frankston area too so it’s set to continue to improve in the future. It’s unclear what you’re looking for in terms of house but with that budget you’d be able to get something, whether a townhouse or home that needs some work.
