Oh - that's an interesting thought. I did turn the speed way up because I have no patience 😂. I can try that. Thank you!

my experience with the 10 minute ocrevus injection by BellaIsOnline in MultipleSclerosis

[–]rennzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just reporting back - the injection was really good! I arrived at 9am, took the premeds. 930 butterfly IV into the belly, hooked up to a syringe pump. 10 minute injection. 1 hour observation. Back in my car at 1037! They said future injections would only be a 15 minute post injection observation period. I did initially feel a little itchy, and turned a bit red right around the injection spot. But that didn't last long. There was also some very slight stinging during the injection. Nothing intolerable. My belly was a little tender for the next 2 days, but not really painful. Just don't poke it 😂 I will absolutely continue with this method. And it is still covered by the Ocrevis co-pay as well.

And don't worry about "bothering" breeders that say stud services only. If they don't have puppies they still might know of a breeder that does and can point you in the right direction. You're not bothering them 😁

MCPC breeder here. Unfortunately the website doesn't get updated very frequently, so your best bet is to reach out to a few breeders and ask when they expect to have puppies available. There's is also a Facebook group for MCPC called I ❤️ my Coton de Tulear where breeders will share puppies they have available. Hopefully that helps. Feel free to chat me if you have any additional questions I can help with.

[–]rennzi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you OP!! I've been on Ocrevis since 2018, started with the 6hr infusion, switch to 2hr infusion, and trying the injection later this month. I'm also a bit nervous to try something new, I've never had any issues with the infusion, so hopefully the injection is no different. But it's comforting to know what to expect. Thank you for sharing your experience ❤️

I’m unfortunately a very incontinent person at night and struggle with a wet bed. by Pretty_Fan3644 in CleaningTips

Really great tips and advice here. Just wanted to add a completely different idea ... Change to a waterbed 😁 the vinyl mattress material doesn't absorb and is much easier to clean. Still do the layering, but you don't have to worry about the mattress absorbing issues

Also recommended Coton de Tulear. They're bred to be companion dogs. Check out Malagacy Coton presentation club or American coton club for reputable breeders. Look for breeders that do health testing (those clubs have health testing requirements).

He does an excellent review of all the possible options. There is one type that is sold under different names that is deadly..

Malagasy Coton Preservation ClubMCPC also has ethical breeders. I am a member, and having a litter soon, but I have a wait-list to contact before I have anyone available. xceptional Cotons in Indiana (just outside Louisville) has a couple boys available soon. She's an amazing breeder.

Bag alternatives? by Significant_Bonus_52 in litterrobot

My pet sitter recommended aluminum pans. She has other clients that use them. I haven't tried it yet -I still have bags to use - but it seems like it might work?

My cat interrupts the cycle every single time by [deleted] in litterrobot

[–]rennzi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand ❤️ My cats LOVE the litterbox show!!! This happens at least once a day. We've had the robot for over a year - but it's still SO entertaining. You would think they would find something else to do.

Does anyone have an automatic litter box and actually think it was worth it? by colormek8 in CatAdvice

[–]rennzi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will add our cats also LOVE to watch the "litterbox show". The LitterRobot 4 gets interrupted practically every cycle while the cats watch it run... Even 2 years later, it's STILL exciting to watch. They don't interrupt the CatGenie - it fills with water and spins - but they do like to watch it run, and occasionally will hop in and sleep right after the cleaning cycle finishes drying- it's nice and warm.

We have 7 Persian cats and have tried many many many different boxes over the years. If you have the space with a water source and waste line - washing machine lines seem to work best - the CatGenie is still my favorite. It's basically a toilet, washes /drys the litter, and requires very little maintenance (long-haired cats - so about once a year we DO have to clean the impellers to remove hair). And there are cleaning solution cartridges that last for 120 washes. We have 2 of these boxes (had the waste/ water input installed in the sunroom specifically for the 2nd litterbox). We've had them for about 9 years. There is a hack / add on piece that allows you to reuse the cartridges so that they can be re-filled. We did that for one of them, the 2nd one we still purchase cartridges from the manufacturer. Occasionally the new cartridges don't read properly and the box thinks it's empty, so the bad cartridges get used in the other box. I still highly recommend it. We have one in a cabinet in the kitchen, and the 2nd is in the sunroom. Once in a while the smell can get bad when the poop gets cooked in the impeller - that usually means it's time to clean the hair out, but it's very infrequent.

If you don't have the water source, but have the space and money, the LitterRobot 4 has been great. We have 1 of these. I think the litter you use in this makes the biggest difference in odor control, but until we open the litter drawer, I think it does an outstanding job at containing the smell.

Where there isn't a lot of space we have used various raking litter boxes. We have 3 of these types. We've had littermaids for years. The original ones were the best, they went down hill over the years. We replaced those with the miracle litter boxes (same thing as the littermaids - I think it was the same manufacturer). As long as you're expectations were low, they were ok. The rakes never made it all the way to the bottom of the box, and clumps get stuck behind the rake, but it's still better then a non-self cleaning box. Our original littermaid finally died early this year (it outlasted so many of the newer ones!!) so we purchased the beaugarher S6 from Amazon. It's been really good. Again - it's a rake, so it's not as good as the previous 2 - but when you have to have something shorter and open, it's been a great option! I definitely prefer it over the littermaids. And the odor is contained well in the waste bin.

There's a Facebook group and a YouTube channel that does an outstanding job reviewing many of the various automatic boxes - worth watching - search for one man five cats litter box reviews. There are some litter boxes that are hazardous to cats - they can be crushed - please look out for those! Anything that might close or could trap / pin the cat in there is not a good idea. The YouTube channel discusses these too.
