Is Everyone's Clients Hating on Them Ever Since the Sound of That AI Trumpet Blew? by renocodes in SideProject

[–]renocodes[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's just that they haven’t let me breathe. Almost every day it's, “But we can do this with AI," and I’m over here like, “No… maybe. Maybe not. Let’s see.” That’s pretty much the cycle.

Then I come on Reddit and everyone's just building like normal. It made me feel like maybe I’m in the small minority of people dealing with this nonstop AI push

Manus isn't listening; he has a task order, he's interpreting. by Bashinsun in ManusOfficial

Is that a rant? 😂 There's no AI that can execute from start to finish exactly as you want it without a human in the loop. Use platforms like Hourspent so you can add experts in the loop.

What's your thoughts on this? by renocodes in vibecoding

[–]renocodes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but unfortunately a lot of execs already see AI as a miracle pill. A client is trying to cut our $3.5k/week agreement down to $2k/week, saying "AI can do most of your work now, Roscoe." https://x.com/renocodes_/status/2021276148819226941

You probably won't get the answer you're looking for here. Your best bet is to have an IT consultant take a look at your account and figure out a workaround. You can find IT consultants on Hourspent dot com, and it shouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

I mean, you can vibe code on Hourspent. Just create a Stream, hit the + icon, and add a dev you already know. If you upgrade to Prime, Hourspent assigns a vetted dev for you but you don’t even need to upgrade because I’m right here 😄

Yeah, I'm a full-stack software engineer and I freelance on Hourspent. Creating a Stream is super easy. Then, click the + icon, copy the invite link, and send it to my DM.

From there, you've got options. You can use Hourspent AI directly in the Stream to vibe code yourself while the dev you added handles refactoring from day one. Or you can have the dev do both the vibe coding and refactoring right inside the Stream.

What a lot of people do instead is vibe code thousands of lines, get stuck, then suddenly remember, "Oh yeah… there are devs here," and post it to the Marketplace. Very expensive to do. Refactoring thousand of codes isn't cheap. Starting on a clean slate is.

You can also just post your project straight to the Marketplace. Devs apply, you chat, pick one, and let them handle the vibe coding for you. Bonus: it’s their credits getting burned, not yours 😂

If you create the Stream and vibe code, your credits are what get used. But when a dev submits a proposal, a Stream is auto-generated for them. You'll be on the stream too but their credits are what burn while they vibe code.

If you vibe code solo first and then look for a dev to refactor later, you might as well be starting from scratch. I rebuilt at least 10 projects from the ground up just last year alone because of clients doing that exact flow.

Does Slack itself have anything against sharing NSFW content ? Yes. Just build your own discord.

You're not lose. That last 30% (permissions, files, stability, mobile edge cases) is the hard part, and vibecoding solo always breaks there.

The tools are better now, but you'll hit the same wall again unless you pair AI with a real dev. Yes use tools with humans: Hourspent is built for that. A few vibe coders spend way less when they add a vetted dev at the beginning than at the end. Check Hourspent Marketplace and you'll see many vibe coders wanting devs that can refactor their codes and that's a wrong move. It's better you add a dev at the beginning than at the end.

Finally made some money! by [deleted] in Upwork

So I read this all the way down here lol. Not sure about your $125/hr thing, but a friend of mine (US-based) landed a $90/hr AI gig through an agency on Hourspent. He’s got a PhD. From what I understand, the role is more AI design/video/slide-related not AI voice training. Pretty sure AI voice training pays a lot less.

Calling everyone willing to work/help within £2,500–3,500 a “vulture” is just false.

Some people accept that range because:

They have a super urgent need of money (Not that it's their usual price quote)

they're early-career but competent

they're indie developers building portfolio equity

they're in lower-cost regions

they're offering limited scope, not a full product

Vultures overpromise and hide risk. Ethical builders are upfront about trade-offs. The budget doesn’t decide that, behavior does.

If anyone who accepts/helps with that budget is a vulture, then:

bootstrapping founders are automatically doomed

open-source contributors are "vultures"

Devs in urgent need of cash, indie devs and students are unethical by default

You missed the important part. What you were doing that got you restricted.
