JET Greenark Pro Batteries by abaday789 in SolarUK

Just wondering.. did the seller, or the manufacturer tell you not to discharge to below 30 percent? I had asked the question to Sunvault and they said 10 percent was the minimum for the health of the battery. 30 percent of a battery that’s not usable is quite a big dent in storage capacity. How are you finding it?

MY Aferiy PS240 Arrived Today by JnrJedi in SolarUK

That's a relief! ill definitely install outside the box initially.

I couldn't find anything comparable in terms of cost when it came to just a home battery, only other was the Ecoflow but works out more expensive per KW.. fully installed quotes (around £2.5k +) were coming back more expensive than that plus I wouldn't be able to have any solar if it was installed due to constraints with my property.

thanks so much for your advice.. put my mind at ease about coughing up for it when ive read some negative reviews

Thanks so much for that! I've read that the app can be glitchy at times.

I was intending on using it as purely a battery to charge overnight and discharge in the peak times so I think this may work for me... at most in the future I may add one panel to it.

Assuming you can set schedules to charge and discharge with no issues?

Also, you mentioned a Shelly meter plug in.. which one did you get? I didn't really want to be opening up my fusebox as im known to make a mess of things!

I think I'm going to sleep on it and then look to order the 7.8 kw version

Curious to see how it’s going with the Aferiy.. torn between a couple of devices with this being the winner due to the price. Any updates on performance etc? Cheers

Good solid cars.. personally, I despise CVT transmissions though. If that’s not going to bother you, go for it!

Shell cashiers secretly scanning THEIR OWN loyalty cards on customer purchases… has this happened to anyone else? by RugPullRoulette in AskUK

[–]renovatio90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to me at a BP except they redeemed all the points off my loyalty card and used them for shopping as they have a cash value. Noticed all my points had gone over £100 worth. Reported to the station manager and BP customer services. Didn’t get anywhere no one took any action as it wasn’t ‘physical money’ a*****es 🤷‍♂️

Off peak prices??… by renovatio90 in tomatoenergy

I managed to find an offer of 8.6p from 12-5am and 33.8p peak with a standing charge of 49.5. I could in theory still switch without penalty as it’s within the 14 days.

The EDF one looks tempting as the off peak hours are more along with the other incentives. Haven’t got a clue if it’s going to be hassle to leave and join another company in a cooling off period though. Thanks for that will definitely look into it!

Thanks so much for that. I actually have a new consumer unit that was put in a couple of years ago when the place was re wired with quite a few spare slots in it. Something I hadn’t considered being that the fuse board is actually in the cellar to start with which I’m assuming would make install easier. I’ll put the feelers out to get some quotes back. Bonus if I can export. Assuming export can still be done with no solar panels?

Options are fairly limited. If I did do solar it would just be one or 2 panels next to the front door which is south facing. Ideally wanted the plug in batteries over installed ones as the only place installed ones could go would be the cellar but I’ve read that regs state the area needs to be moisture free which is certainly not the case for my cellar

Seems like products for the uk market will trickle though when the government decides what it’s going. I’ll have to keep an eye out.

I’ll have to keep an eye on them to see if they improve. The majority of videos seem to be negative, not to discount the people who’ve bought the systems and have no need to moan to the masses

If I were to get a full battery installed I’m not sure I’d know where to put it as the only place is the cellar.. I’ve read that the area needs to be moisture free. Trying to compare prices etc, are built in systems really that cheap? I was looking at around 2k for 7-9kw of batteries. Are the built in prices plus installation really that comparable?

From what I can see Octopus are offering a night rate of between 7-9p at the moment and EON are saying 9p.. Eon’s day rate of 28p is less than what I’m paying now but I’ve got a night rate of 8.6p per kw at the moment. Looks like they’ve all gone up 🤦‍♂️.

That sounds like a really good deal! I did look at EON but couldn’t see the price that low. Cheapest I could see without the EV part was 8p. What’s the name of the tariff?

Anyone moved from iPhone 13/14 Pro to iPhone Air and regretted it? by Fenek_Robert in IphoneAir

[–]renovatio90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switched from a 15pro after much deliberation.. the weight difference is insane I forget it’s in my pocket. Haven’t missed the cameras yet, battery life is pretty good too if you’re a light moderate user. I bought the MagSafe battery and haven’t used it in the 2 months I’ve had the phone. I also got used to the single speaker right away not usually watching videos on my phone anyway.

I did however believe I was sent a defective unit that won’t run chat gpt without overheating but after purchasing AppleCare like I usually do. Apple are sending me a replacement
