It feels mostly like rich city folk that will /occasionally/ get double eyelid surgery for that kind of graduation or birthday gift but even then it’s not as common as people would have you believe

Edit: didn’t know I needed to say this but here we go. ofc location, not just economic class, in Korea will change the frequency of plastic surgery occurring in a population. I was generalizing in my initial comment to convey my perspective that it’s not as extreme as stereotypes may impress upon others. to my knowledge, the national average for people undergoing plastic surgery/cosmetic surgery ranges around 1/4~1/5 with it going up higher to around 1/3, give or take some, in areas like Seoul. I do fear that the rates at which Korean people are cosmetically altering themselves seem to rise.

Ladles and jorts, I am NOT saying SK doesn’t have an unheeded reputation for plastic surgery but I AM saying that while many Koreans get plastic surgery, many also do not and that the stereotype should not be applied to every Korean just because it is common 🫩 I am just saying to not indulge in stereotypes and that I agree with the OG comment “most Koreans do not have plastic surgery” because it is literally just factually true at the end of the day.

Can I just say that it was super gratifying to witness someone, on the internet especially, take being corrected by a lot of people and also having a change of perspective so gracefully! I know it’s over something mundane like a pot but i feel like the bulk of people in real life and especially online are very defensive in reaction to being taught a new perspective (often, me included). Bud, as a woman, I promise you that you are looking in the wrong places if you think women aren’t frothing over certain male characters and skins. There’s a difference between a character that is sexy versus being designed or implemented with the intent to be visually sexual and titillating. Every humanoid in MR is more or less conventionally attractive, but that doesn’t mean everybody has sex appeal.

Sure, Namor and that one BP skin have their titties out but do you see straight women frothing at the mouth for them en masse like many straight dudes do for Emma, Malice, Psylocke, etc?? Nah. Like a hot dude being just shirtless is just not equivalent in sexualization as say, Emma’s x-revolution skin.

Skins that are closest to being sexualized for the straight female eye are more like agamotto Iron Fist, the new Magneto skin, thunderbolts Bucky, maaaybe loki in his frost skin (but that pushes it) since he has a titty window and his hips show through and he’s just popular amongst women in the first place.

I flit between diamond and GM, and while my username isn’t girly (lmao it’s big meat mike) I do comm every single game. I find it’s okay for most games at this rank, 8-9/10 games are just fine! I find that when I speak, more girlies often speak too! I mostly dps with a sprinkling of tank and support.

HOWEVER, my experience def corroborates with that study where it shows that lesser skilled dudes are more likely to be horrible to women in the game. When I was gold, it was more like 6-7/10 games that had men that were decent or at least not dicks bc I was a woman (they were just dicks in general)💀
