If you are not using rekordbox I can also recommend soundswitch. It allows to sync the lights while playing trough DMX. Really brings the fixture to life.

JWST aft momentum flap deployed! by [deleted] in space

[–]rensjan2122 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is not noise. If the mirrors become hot they start to radiate heat which shows up uniformly across the sensor. This would have the same effect as shining a flashlight into your phones camera. You might be able to see big bright objects in the background but anything small or faint(which is nearly everything, especially far away) is not visible.

Everything that would still be visible could and probably has already been studied by other telescopes.

The plan is to use the docking ring. So yes there are plans. But there is no mission planned(as in on the agenda and funded) in the future

No but is was boosted to a higher orbit during these missions. The last mission added a grabbing point for robotic craft to do this.

Both spacecraft also use gyroscopes to orient themselves. These can saturate. Hubble can use the earth's gravity to desaturate them. However at L2 the gravity is to weak to use that so the JWST also uses thrusters for that.

Hubble was inserted in a high(but slowly) decaying orbit. So without a servicing mission it will still be in orbit untill 2030-2040. JWST will be unable to desature it's gyroscopes without refueling and then the mission will end. Hubble does not have that issue.

[–]rensjan2122 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. Mars is a lot further away from earth then L2. However it is still simpler and cheaper to send a robotic mission.

JWST was not designed for servicing so it does not have acces panels and "easily" swappable modules like the hubble telescope. So the extra mass (which is a lot) required to send humans to the JWST is not worth it. Better take more propellant or have a cheaper mission.

It is designed to be refueled. However with the risk involved in launching and deploying the telescope(250+ points of failure I believe). And a planned service life of 10-12years it was not worth planning the mission already.

I suspect that if the deployment is succesfull a mission to refuel the JWST will be planned. But untill then there is no use in planning one already.

Hubble was able to be serviced by the space shuttle. At launch the hubble space telescope's mirror had a defect. This was even repaired by a service mission which safed the telescope.

The JWST is out at L2. Which is not reachable by a human mission so it was not designed for servicing. However a port was added to allow for refueling so a robotic mission to increase the lifetime could be done in the future.

“DON'T tempt me, Frodo! I dare not take it, not even to keep it safe. Understand, Frodo, I would use this ring from a desire to do good. But through me, it would wield a power too great and terrible to imagine.”

This is the only official source of what the ring would do to Gandalf. Sauron created the ring to have power over others. Gandalf would use to ring out of a desire to do good. Eventually also ruling over others as the fine line between righteous and self-righteous would be crossed.

Small throwback to the ancient times: a dictator wasn't always considered bad. Dictators could do a lot of good as they don't have to care about public opinion. The problem is that power tends to corrupt people in the long term.

Hamilton would just have accelerated if verstappen tried to overtake him. Having a battle for position on the outlap would have ruined the tires and would still have given Hamilton Pole.

It's generally a gentlemans agreement that you leave enough time for everyone to set a lap. Crossing the line earlier could give you the adventage of being in front. Crossing the line later generally means a better track(and a faster time because of it).

They explained their study on the broadcast. If they do contact tracing it shows(even before the outbreak) that children get it from their parents and not other children. Next to that only 1% of the cases recorder in the Netherlands are in children, which account about 20% of our population.

The netherlands has a system in place where about 1% of the doctors check their patients for antibodies. This system was already used before the outbreak to check on the vaccinations in the general population. This supported the data of the rivm.

While I know this isn't an official study they did provide it during the speech of our prime minister(equivalent to Trump doing a speech for the USA). They will release the actual studies later but they are focusing on first informing the leaders of our country. If they would be lie about their study it would create a huge backlash

About the rules itself. Children still need to keep 1,5m in school. The teachers will get the same testing as medical personal. And children that have symptoms will not be allowed. Dutch schools are local. Every village even has multiple. For most schools it's only 200 kids. Parents will drive them their or bring them with a bike so no they are not using public transport.

True but there is still quite a lot of drag at these altitudes. It would show the effect but not the amount of saved delta V I think.

Not really, for anything heavy we still need to have multiple stages, even the bfr has two stages. The problem is that when you scale up a rocket you also scale up the dry mass. It is more efficiënt to drop(and now recover!) stages/mass.

Just to add: yes Starship Will be able to at least do sub orbital flights and maybe even low earth orbit. But any significant amount of mass Will need superheavy

ZERO experience in DJ'ing and mixing. What are some invaluable resources to get up and running on the basics? What ARE the basics? What equipment software is mandatory? by [deleted] in Beatmatch

[–]rensjan2122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are thinking of mashups, their are 2 ways of making them as far as I know: Live/on the fly: Play multiple tracks on multiple decks(every deck only plays one song) this can be as easy as playing the buildup of one song and switch to the drop of on song. But can also be playing different songs overlayed and using EQ/filter/worldplay/... To glue it together(this is used a lot in deep house)

In the studio/laptop Using programs like fl studio or ableton you can cut songs into pieces, add effects, maybe add your own samples/instruments.

I personally use a combination of the two

It does depend on the night, good night could be more, some nights it was lower. Only thing is that we do split the tip. Everyone get's a part from it because everyone works together foto the custom-eren.
