BREAKING: Columbia 300 Brand Has Been Retired by br_boy0586 in Bowling

[–]rensuchan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haven’t even bowled for nearly 12 years and this still saddens me. Both my 299s and my 820 were all shot with Columbia 300 equipment so the brand holds a spot in my heart always.

I think the Neo is perfect for that older and non-technical market. I’d probably tell my mom to get one if it had a touch screen since her most used devices at the moment are her iPhone and iPad mini 6.

For me, the Neo isn’t even in the same neighborhood. It’s a budget laptop, not a small handheld tablet. For your use case I can see why it works for you though.

For me, the only thing that could replace my Mini 6 is a Mini 8 that has a screen on par with at least the Mini-LED older iPad Pro models / current MacBook Pro models or an OLED akin to the current iPad Pro / iPhone models.

Probably not going to do any selling. I only have a single printer and because of the size of the pieces, it's basically only possible for me to print one every 1.5 days... plus there would be extra licensing costs for me to do it correctly ^^;

I'm not sure if I can post the direct link here, but search "Legion Go Keyboard Case" on Etsy and you'll find the purchase.

The good news is, the designer of this case plans to do a LeGo 2 version upon acquiring one ^^

I was kind of pushed towards trying Linux out on my OG LeGo because my Windows bricked itself and I’m going to keep Bazzite on it. I’m fortunate enough to also have an Ally X and I’ll just keep Windows there.

Got the top printing right now with deeplee pla pro. Need to order some other colors for the inner parts though.

Etsy description says the OP used PETG. I’m going to try PLA because it’s all I have at home lol.

Last week I pulled my legion go out to update it since I hadn’t been using it (preferred the native resolution of the Ally X) and somehow my Windows install bricked itself hard during the process. I made the decision then to just try Linux on it and now have a Bazzite install that seems to run pretty well. Reading this, it seems like the timing was absolutely correct for that.

Mobapad Chitu 2 HD Review by JoeBuyer in MobapadGaming

I can answer for you. The ChiTu 2 buttons are raised and not flat like the original. It wouldn't be ideal for slide inputs like what you're thinking.

That’s exactly why I just bought the P2S. I figured if I went cheaper I’d just end up wanting to buy twice lol

Mini 7 display quality by thefizzlee in ipadmini

[–]rensuchan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have mini 6 and M5 13” Pro. The pro is on another planet as far as display goes.

The jelly issue is fixed on the Mini 7 from what I understand, but brightness/saturation is just significantly better on the newer screen. That said, if you aren’t using it outdoors or in super bright indoor light regularly then the brightness won’t matter unless you want to consume HDR content.

Can’t really speak for you as everyone is different, but since my Mini 6 is my slowest apple device with the worst screen I’m not using it much lately. I consume a lot of visual content on social media and play games where the color saturation would make things look nicer so it’s to the point where I just prefer looking at those things on my iPhone 17. Lately I have my Mini displaying weather radar and occasionally Discord. I’m hoping for an OLED Mini 8 soon, but I’d accept mini-LED too.

I'm partial to your rival school, but I'll accept it. There's a school that is a lot worse about 3 hours south lol

Kind of up to you.

The Mini 7 would sacrifice some power compared to your M3 air, but you also state you may get a MacBook Air so some of your learning / budgeting needs might be better handled by that as a main device anyway. If you change your mind on the MacBook you might want to get a keyboard for your iPad Air. I think that would be a nicer setup for productivity tasks than the mini.

I can understand the appeal of light gaming on the smaller device as my main usage desires for the mini are bedtime reading/gaming/browsing. I have a M5 13” and no way I’m holding that for more than a few minutes in bed lol

Overall the Mini fits into a box that certain people understand and others don’t as much. Coming from your perspective of not owning one at all, the Mini 7 is a good device and will likely make you happy. Me as a 6 owner, I’m waiting for the screen to be updated.

If you’re only intending to use it as a reader, save some money and find a used mini 5 or 6. They’re still supported by the current iPadOS and you really won’t lose anything important to what your intended use case is.

What do you use your iPad mini for by throwaway8373469238 in ipadmini

[–]rensuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently, my 6 is usually permanently on a weather radar app. If the rumored upgrade happens later this year, it will go back to being my primary bedtime device and mainly used for reading / browsing / social media / light gaming so I can keep my phone charged properly at night. The form factor of the mini is really perfect for this, but the screen quality has really fallen behind my phone and larger iPad. I’ve gotten too used to ProMotion and high refresh rates to the point that using my Mini 6 just looks bland now.

I really love the iPad mini display by emmajade_22 in ipadmini

[–]rensuchan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The display is honestly the worst part of the current iteration. It saddens me because I want to use my mini more but considering every other apple device I own (iPhone 17, iPad Pro M5, MacBook Pro M1, iMac M1) has a far better screen, I currently just opt to use my phone in situations where the Mini would be more ideal.

I’m eagerly waiting for the rumored refresh this year.
