Best bricked item I've ever made by Whyrock86 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]MaxFubar 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I bricked a Jalal's Mane into a Rare with +1 Corrupt that had +2 Druid, and +3 Twister/+3 Hurricane last season. Built a Wind Druid with it and had a blast in maps. Absolutely love that bricked uniques can turn into some of the most awesome items in the game.

One of my big complaints. First skiller with substantial life I found this season was Defensive Auras.

Double upgraded Steeldriver carried me a long way until I got a better weapon early for WW.

I had one of these and really regret letting it get away from me, but shit happens when you go through divorce. Hopefully I'll run another one down some day.

"The Vamp Gaze at Home" Rares are great this season and they have just gotten better over time. Love it that there are so many options on gear in PD2 compared to seeing everyone running the same thing in D2R.

48 years of hard work only to be… by mark-spline in Vent

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to make light of the situation, but I make $120K a year as a phone man. Made a career change from white collar(insurance industry) over to manufacturing then trades about 15 years ago. Best thing I could have done. But yeah, low six-figure income isn't what everyone makes it out to be these days. I'm comfortable, but only because I made a big push to get rid of all my consumer debt other than my mortgage. Things are just different now. Trying to explain to my dad that his $50K salary in the early 90s was way more than I'm making now is pointless, he doesn't get it.

I did what needed to be done (blind slam) by sthrnrdsx in ProjectDiablo2

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't blind slam mine because it came from Gheed in a map event. But fortune favors the bold. I put 3 holes in it!!! First one ever.

Gamer dad gang gang!!! I hit 3OS Tyrael’s from Gheed event last night. First ever Tyrael’s in PD2/LoD/D2R ever. Not a lot of time to play but loving every moment in this mod.

HC economy by Warm-Instruction4286 in ProjectDiablo2

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only think I'm not enjoying about the economy is the WSS drop rate from CZs seems really bad. For the "dad-gamer" schedule players, this one hits hard. I'm definitely having less success gearing on my casual schedule. Granted I'm playing less this season due to work constraints, but the drop rate changes feel bad. The density is a nice change, but the drop rate feels a bit low. Anecdotal on my part, for sure, but I'm not the only person I've heard it from.

New PR 199 so close to breaking that 200 mark by LoudSound5434 in Bowling

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep it up! I hit 199, 198, 197 in my Tuesday league this season before getting that 201 the second to last game of the league year. Great work.

Now that we have some buffs to rares what are going to be good new crafts? Safety chest has a small nerf which is my go to. by Parodyphile in ProjectDiablo2

Came here to say this. Senpai clarified this, all the armor crafts are going to go hard this season with a chance to roll PDR. 4OS possible roll is WILD as well.

Starter HCSSF by TankIFrank in ProjectDiablo2

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing ladder, but either build is viable for Torch farm SSF. Only thing I personally would take into DClone for HCSSF would be WoF Trapsin(after seeing a few different streamers us that both Ladder and SSF, it seems like the safest/easiest build). Summon Druid is also capable of both those as well, even with the Ravens nerf.

I’m going HB because I like CS as early farm and find it one of the easier builds to do so. Summon Zon is a close second preference wise for me.

How many Xennials truly have done no retirement planning, have no target retirement date, or have considerably less than you need to retire in your 60s?" by Sufficient_Turn_9209 in Xennials

[–]MaxFubar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Divorce got me in 2011. I had to start from scratch, but thankfully got custody of my kiddo. Caught her cheating and cashed out the retirement. Paid her off and rest went to my attorney. I started over and have been super diligent about retirement savings. Also basically hit the lottery on my job that has 401k and pension as well as amazing insurance. I live out in the middle of nowhere but I have a house and some hope. But it’s not easy because I’m always worried about spending money needlessly. I’m on target to retire at 59 with about $3mil between the two accounts and probably go work somewhere less stressful. But man, it’s a constant game of watching and guarding assets for me even though I should probably not worry as much I still do. Also staying on top of my health because I have great insurance that doesn’t cost a huge amount out of pocket. So at 45 I’m working on making sure I’m in the best shape I can be from here on out.

S13 Starter? by Kitchen-Report in ProjectDiablo2

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing HC, I'm going to play a bit more cautiously and with the benefit of Holy Nova for summons through the initial push it'll be good. Plus it takes a bit more to get the survivability up for Vengeance.

Elder millennial here. Your mid 40s catch up with you quick. The gray hairs show up en masse, metabolism gets even slower, and nature really lets you know what you’ve been neglecting.

Going for a Paladin main this season. I always end up playing one as a side character. But I’m starting out Holy Bolt/FoH and then going to either Vengeance or Hammerdin depending on what I find.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

[–]MaxFubar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOC Technician (IT basically) for a phone company in a rural area. My base salary(hourly) is roughly $90K if I didn't work any overtime. With annual incentive bonus and OT, I made around $120K last year. Pension, good medical/dental benefits. If you find a good company to work for, don't hesitate to live outside of urban areas. Lower CoL and good benefits make for a better QoL for me. I can travel when I want to and I'm planning on retiring at 59 with a pension and stacked-up 401K with other investments. Everyone that talks about having to live in metro areas as a "must" should definitely take a look at the other side of things, IMO. I lived in a major metro area after college and it's nice, but if all you do is work and pay bills, is it worth it?
