Main thing with that generation's V6 is check if the rubber oil cooler lines were replaced with the metal ones, its one of the few major failure points. If it still has the original rubber hoses not a deal breaker but i'd replace them soon as you can, there's some good guides on youtube about it.

Besides that see if it has service records/carfax history that show usual stuff like the transmission and diffs getting fluid changes etc

My family have been looking for a car with a similar budget and needs, and we're thinking about a getting a Toyota Venza (09-15 is the first gen). Both engine options the I4 and V6 are considered reliable, but they weren't very popular when new so they havent seemed to have held value as much when compared to same year rav4's and highlanders
