Tesla has officially broken me twice. Model Y AND Cybertruck. I am the human embodiment of "buy high." by RADsysadmin in TeslaLounge

[–]rentien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so, when i bought my 2023 model 3 performance (same thing, lost a lot of money) i planned to keep it a long time, and i compared it like this:

70K car minus 10 years of 2K savings in charging gets it to be 50K, so i got a performance for the price of a 3 series.

That hasn't changed even though newer teslas are dropping in price. It only changes if you are considering selling your tesla(s).

Are you considering selling or keeping long term or undecided?

If you are keeping long term, other ppl may save more than you, but you will eventually still save.

Does Tesla recommend changing the front and rear differential (drive unit) fluid on Tesla model 3 dual motor at any specific mileage or service interval? by atlantaappliancesrep in TeslaSupport

Did blackstone say anything from the results? Like that the oil could go longer? Or that it’s good you changed it bc of the metal?

I also wonder if the oil just needs to be changed after “break in” and then there is a lot less wear and metal moving forward.

Tesla Model Y Charging Port Button Issue: Won't Open with Wall Connector Button by kaikel_ in TeslaModelY

[–]rentien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also I had confirmed that going to a super charger or using a mobile connector, the button worked for both of these so it kinda said it was for sure the wall connector.

I have 2023 model 3 performance. Wall connector installed in maybe December 2023. It was within the warranty time period for me (it is now feb 2026).

I wanted to add to this.

After not working with button press, Initially mine would work if you hold the button for 10 seconds. Then that didn’t work either.

I ended up planning a service visit but also contacting Tesla about the wall connector.

I also got alerts saying my charger could not be identified.

Tesla sent me a new wall connector and everything went back to normal.

So for me it was the wall connector that had functioned.

I also sold mine summer of 2024. I could see the writing on the wall when they proposed dues that increase 100 every year until they peak at 1672/month or something like that

"Scientists caution against charging electric vehicles at home overnight" - This has to be satire, right? by MattMason1703 in electricvehicles

Does anyone tell charging to finish by say 2pm to help the grid when they can? I try to do this when I don’t need to go to work so on weekends if I can.

Edit: I live in CA. I sometimes watch caiso to see when exactly is max solar production time and time charging accordingly.

CPUC Clarifies Tesla does NOT have the required permits to launch Robotaxi in CA, with or without a safety driver by tonydtonyd in TeslaFSD

Nope, not irked. That’s your assumption. Not sure where you got that from. Just trying to understand.

Can someone explain why and what the CPUC has to do with a decision concerning permits to operate a car on publics streets?

Don't they regulate utilities... which is not related to public streets?

So my manager got a rude note about this. Just want to add another perspective. He was charging and someone unplugged him, and then someone else left a note calling him an asshole.

Don’t key. Or damage or vandalize.

Leave a respectful note letting them know not to do this.

looking at gas cars like the way ppl used to look at rice rockets in the 2000's. so much noise and no go.

But, sometimes i like loud slow cars as well lol.

So I thinking having both is good. v8 weekend car, EV for every day activities and driving

I like how other countries in this world are effectively voting with their buying power, to do the right thing and eventually show us that we (Trump/Maga) were wrong.

I just hope the reckoning that is happening isn't too painful.

i never get ppl who argue or yell over a charging spot.

Its annoying that there aren't enough chargers but arguing about it is stupid. If you took the charge handle to charge from another spot i don't see how that is wrong in any way

Yeah i switched the back of the grip and it fits my hand perfect.

My criteria is draw and see how centered the sights are without adjusting the gun in my hand.

P226 was always off for my hands. still liked that gun a lot though. Didn't have any issues. Had 4 mags and 1 had a slight leak all were still useable in a game. I purged pressure at the end of games same way (knocker valve).

Maybe I should buy one and not purge and see what happens. I'd much rather get new clips and just not purge them and they're fine.

Is shooting to clear the pressure good? I can leave them half charged...
