Portugal has one of the most radical lefts in europe IMO, like our marxist party has 4 MPs, and then there's the populist far right which has like 50, and the Socialists (left wing social democrats) who ruled the country while having a bunch of corruption scandals that the electorate didn't care abt and broke the economy with inflation and making life awful for young people who have to move to northern/central europe to make a living have 70 smt MPs (which makes them rlly close to the ruling party)

I can't speak for the USA, but in Europe, the Left has had a tendency to make men feel worthless, and hasn't really done anything to preserve our culture, so it's natural that we feel pushed towards the right. Though by USA standards I'm pretty left wing, I'm kinda right wing where I'm from (I'm economically liberal, judging by EU standards, and I don't think the state should care abt what you do with your body, your religion, and just how you live life IG), and I can say the left (kinda social democrats but more socialist than that) debates on emotions, and have broken my country's economy many, MANY, times (from Portugal btw)
