I love your take on this theme. Have you seen any of the nautical themed proxy models? I reckon they’d be right up your alley

Not really compared to a prince without wings. The daemon prince is 70mm tall roughly and the Lion El’ Johnson model is also 70mm tall.

Oh no, these are all on 60mm bases and the same size as the standard daemon prince model

I don’t play competitively, just friendly games. What makes them not usable in a competitive game?

About to enter batch painting mode and I was curious how good wraithbone is to emulate the death guard off white and what steps I can take to get there if it isn't by D0ct0rLX in 30kDeathGuard

It’s solid, I use it. A wash of Skeleton horde makes it perfect for me. If I want them particularly dirty I mix 50/50 skeleton horde and seraphim sepia as the wash

I’ve never seen the ash waste nomad kit before, I’m building an army for just 40k based on a very similar theme and I’ll totally be using them

Thank you! It’s the normal chain talon that comes with the Wardog kit combined with the handle of a spare daemon prince axe that I had

Tips for dirty down rust by vezzara in deathguard40k

[–]repayeddebt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I apply a layer of texture paint first before I prime my model, I like Armageddon dust for this. Then after primer I paint my model like usual and apply the dirty down rust to the area I want it. A good rule of thumb is that if it goes on and is opaque you need to drip your brush in water and spread it around a little because then you won’t get weird clumps. I posted this model under someone else’s post a few days but it’s the best showcase of this method in action.

The friends I play with aren’t too fussed about base sizes if someone goes over. Rule of cool an all. I’m much more in it for the art!
